Spinks didn't do enough to win. What was a joke was the scorecard of Flaherty having it 117-111 for Spinks didn't make any sense. Like Lamps said he should be banned from judging championship fights.

I love a good, technical boxing match and don't need to see huge blows being landed in order to win a round. But having said that there is no way Spinks won this fight. After the second round most of Spinks’s blows were slipped or at best, hitting glove.

Spinks wasn't landing late in the fight like he did early in the fight. Both guys did so much ****IN POSING. Cory kept lunging inside and hitting gloves. Everytime Jermain landed Cory backed off or tied up. I don't think Cory won the fight, but he was close.

You can bash Spinks all you want, but still remains Taylor did **** to finish or decidedly edge out the fight. If he wants to be considered great, he should've fought like the bigger man and cut off damn ring instead of hunt and pecking himself.

Scoring match ups like these are really starting to irritate me. You have a much smaller guy who can't do **** but speedy pit pat to out work you and you have the bigger guy who doesn't know how (or can't) impose his will on you because he really really doesn't know how/doesn't listen to the corner. You would think this **** gets figured out in training.

Looking at the fight casually, as ugly as it was, Spinks won. The compustats even reflected that imo. He was within 20 punches to match Taylor's total landed while throwing 100+ more punches. The connect percenatge was low, but what's different here than from a lot of other low connect pct loser's fights is that the total landed was comparable. Add to the fact that Spinks had Jermaine psychologically beaten, and it really hurt the outlook to favor Taylor in my eyes.

Jermain has the same problem I saw in the Winky Wright fight. I thought it was specific to the fight with Wright, but now seeing it again, it looks like it's a learned behavior. Instead of initiating offense he sits there trying to figure his guy out (whether it's with timing, or looking for a lax in defense) to create offense, but killing a ton of time in the process. No. No. No. Taylor fought Cory like he was an equal when he should have been hunting him with body shots and that right hand instead of trying to figure out whatever the hell it is he's trying to figure out.

                Final thought:

Apparently, (going by the judging) it's hard to take the belt away from the bigger man trying to press the action and is hard hitting, (even if he is fighting ****** and confused) ...but I guess it's even harder to give it to a guy who out works you - but can't punch worth a damn.

That was one of, if not THE, most boring fights I've ever seen.
Taylor sure was pumped up before and after the fight.
Too bad he couldn't get it up during the fight.

I thought Jermain won but yeah he does the little movement and usually he would throw the jab. In this fight he did it like a 1,000 times and almost never threw. Idon't understand how he just didn't throw it. Cory didn't hurt him. I think Jermain was too concerned with not looking bad against Spinks. HE WAS LOOKING BAD BY NOT DOING ****. Even in the Wright fight he was throwing a lot and made Winky's face look bad, and fought hard. Look at Jermain's face in my sig. It doesn't look like he was even touched. He hasn't really had a very good fight since Hopkins. I don't think it was Jermain's decision to get Steward it was Ozell Nelson's.
