Anybody else notice the last couple of fights Merchant is really at odds with Jim and Lennox? No matter what they say he has to take the opposite point of veiw.Comment

Yeah I was getting pissed at Taylor. I was like let your hands go. What the **** are you doing? Cory Spinks fought his fight and almost won had he did a little more late. Jermain's last good fight was against Winky.
After the fight it didn't even look like Jermain was in a fight. No bleeding, no swollen eye(Spinks was), and no kind of cut. Not ****. Like I said before he fought like he didn't care.Comment

Lampley had the JT/Spinks fight decided from the opening bell. The fight was NOWHERE close to being a domination, and Lampley so boldly states, "well the fans will boo when the judges announce that jermain taylor has won..."
I mean, what the **** is that?^ I believe that was in the 10th or 11th and the fight was (sadly) still pretty close.Comment

Without a doubt, the funniest HBO boxing program they have put on in YEARS. I couldn't believe how many screwups there were. Lederman's card said 116-114 for Taylor, they played the same graphic of the 115-112 for Toney over Peter twice, confusing the hell out of Lampley, Merchant was talking CRAZY AS HELL at the end of the show and made less sense than ever before, cracking up everyone I had in the room, including chicks who noted his drunkenness, Buffer screwed up the judge's scorecard for Spinks, Lampley said the guy should never be allowed to judge again, and Manny Steward was LIVID. Not to mention after one of the early rounds, Manny said very clearly into a microphone (by accident), "THIS GUY CAN'T PUNCH" and it echoed throughout the arena. I was rolling at that. Then, Taylor kept apologizing for fighting. Merchant went OFF on Smoger after the first knockdown. Lampley used the word dreadful at least 4 times to describe the main event. What a hilarious night of boxing.Comment

The crew had to make up for the crap that was the main event. I actually don't mind tactical fights, but dancing around the ring doesn't seem too tactical, just plain fighting scarred. Well at least Spinks listened to his corner. And for whoever says that he wonders if Manny will leave Taylor after this fight, NO! I like Manny and all and his devotion to MoTown is admirable, but the man goes to where the money is, and the money is still in the middleweight champion of the world.Comment
