Pavlik has a bucket of guts, a great chin, and the heart of a bear, but he's too slow and too hittable to last more than a couple of rounds with Joe. In 3 or 4 years he might be ready, but Calzaghe will be long retired by then (I hope). Pavlik would be a good match for Taylor, though. I think Taylor would win (he does best against fighters who move forward), but it would be an exciting fight.

I'm going with Calzaghe. he has more experience, but I may change my mind the longer it takes for them to match-up. Age is not on Calzaghe's side.

Calzaghes faster but I think Pavliks stronger. Calzaghe was not blessed with strong hands. He has terrible hand injuries

If Taylor fights Calzaghe, I do not want to see Pav and Kessler fight eachother since what happens if they ruin eachother and for what? the #1 spot at the title, which both already have in their own divisions, and for little money (compared to what they could make in the future)

If Taylor fights Joe, he gives up his title and the same for Joe.

Not that it matters since Titles mean little these days
Kessler is the best matchup for Calzaghe, but I don't think it'll happen until after Taylor. Calzaghe will beat Taylor easily enough, I think, but he might very well take on either Hopkins, or Pavlik, after the Taylor fight, just to get either another big payday (Hopkins), or an easy win against a younger, far less experienced opponent in Pavlik to make another mark in the "Title Defense" column. Also, Pavlik might deserve a shot, like you say (fabulous performance tonight on his part.... I liked him before, but now I'd let the guy sleep with my daughter), but doesn't stand a chance against Calzaghe (or Kessler), not yet.
