If you don't think Spinks is a credible opponent, than any fighter that faces the top fighter in the division below him deserves no credit either...

No, but its interesting to see if Spinks is game for a fight.

Agreed; it's not a terrible choice at all. The only thing people can complain about is that it makes three consecutive defenses against guys coming up in weight, but they were all champs andf the first was Winky Wright.

I think so somewhat. He's not the best at that weight. But he certainly has credentials. If he had more fights at 160 then it would be no problem.

I'd give him more credit if the Spinks atleast fought someone else at 160 before fighting the champion of the division...

i dont mind champions in one weight moving up to challenge for a title in another, but in this case i'd like to see taylor in against a real middleweight, his last 3 fights have been against jr. middles now; spinks, ouma and Wright (though he deserves credit for facing wright). I see Spinks getting KTFO in this one.

He's a credible opponent, but I don't expect much of a fight, Taylor is just better in every department.

I think so, in the form of a title defense. Hopkins beat some weak opposition during his reign. Both DLH and Trinidad weren't natural middleweights. He did fight Winky. Winky was a middleweight. He's gonna fight 2 jr. middle's(Ouma and Spinks). Next its time for a middleweight. **** Roy Jones.
