I would like to see him fight somebody like a K-9 or Sechew Powell for a couple more fights then go after a title bout. IMO he is ready for a title by next year maybe even sooner.

Probably when it's a title fight or a title eliminator.

K9 is the best fight for him right now, he'd be the biggest fighter that he's faced and also the best, plus I'd like to see how he'd cope with K9's smothering kinda style.

i think that would be a good next fight but i think berto would destroy joel julio via KO and further expose him... i'd rather see him against a carlos quintana or another KO artist like julio but with more boxing skills

I know it's dissapointing that he isn't fighting somebody with at least a winning record, but maybe Clay can give him some rounds which he needs.

Yeah I feel the same. K-9's style is pretty awkward with the holding and his smothering style. It would prepare Berto later down the road against fighters that could possess the same style as K-9. Even though Berto may seem ready for a tough opponent he is still learing and facing fighters with different styles would do him good.
