My problem with Taylor is that he can't win fights convincingly. That is all.

taylor last five oppents record 206-17-3 b-hop twice

how can u like taylor willingness to fight
he was calling out tito and b-hop challenged him!!!! he took it and won
b-hop cry promise he would do better got a rematch!!! didn't
the next best fight in his weight challenges him!!! taylor gets a draw
so he offer a rematch and is REFUSED
Ouma a boxer in search of a payday... taylor in search of a knockout...
ouma gets his payday taylor doesn't get his knockout...
some reality tv show winner is known as the "contender" is offered a chance to prove he is a contender but lack the to fight the champ... (while calzaghe fights the LOSER of the contender)
spinks in search of payday... taylor in search of an oppent that will fight him...

Taylor, margarito, jmm, pac, and vladamir are the only champs that are actively trying to fight the best around there weight class

How is fighting Spinks and Ouma before him preparing him for Taylor or Pavlik when one is a blown up jr middleweight and the other is a blown up welter and neither can punh? How is that preparing him to fight two big middleweights that have knockout power? It seems that he doesn't want to fight a big middlewight that can punch, and he has not been impressive in any of his fights. he was backed up by Ouma and couldn't even knock him out or knock him down.

I don't bash Taylor. I am just not convinced by him as of yet. I am also a bit bitter about his "wins" over Hopkins. After he fought Ouma I had an even greater respect for Ouma's willpower than I had before.

My big issue with Taylor is HBO and his handlers are trying to build him up a this awesome undefeated Middleweight champoin. At best he has raw talent but he IS a protected fighter. I understand the thinking about taking all these safe fights for big money and prolong his carreer but don't talk about what a GREAT champion he is. People that casually follow boxing may fall for the hype but fact are he has a long way to go to prove himself. RIght now he's just another fighter with one of the dozens of belts from the alphbit organizations. When he start fighting legitmate fighters in his OWN division who are legimate threats than they can start talking about how great he is. Whether it''s true or not most fight fans I talk to think he's ducking the legimate middleweights , lets see him fight Mirananda, Pavlik or Abraham and other fighters of this caliber if he's so good.

Ouma's heart was never in question, in my opinion. Just his size and ability in the matchup. As far as Taylor is concerned, he's still a little young and needs more experience, but shows a great deal of promise. If he keeps his head on straight and doesn't develop a lazy streak, he could wind up being a big moneymaking name in the next 5 years or so.

And yep, he's been protected somewhat, but what great prospect hasn't been? Every week I see fights between guys with numbers like this:
8(7byKO)-0-0 VS 8(3byKO)-0-4. That's how you get a hot young fighter as many rounds as possible without taking a big chance on adding numbers in the right column or blasting his self confidence by getting him beaten by a far more experienced fighter.

In three fights he faced two of the P4P best and won twice and a draw in another. So for him to have two I guess easier fights doesn't really bother me, at least he is fighting fighters that we know, Ouma and Spinks don't suck. I understand though why people get upset, I would rather seem him fight true middleweights or aboove to. I think he gets criticism because he beat B-Hop twice and they were fights that could have gone either way. People like champs who win convincely, but B-Hop is tough not to many even at his age can beat him convinceingly. I think people hate on him as well because HBO hypes him and also after his two wins over Hopkins we thought he would be the biggest thing in boxing and annihilate everybody, but that hasn't happened. He has great pure talent and athleticism, but hasn't seemed to improve, even with Steward as his trainer. So it's kind of frustrating to see that. In the end though he is still undefeated and young and there is still time for him to improve and become a champ that very little people question whether he is top notch or not.
