Espinoza And Chavez Deny Claim On Other Site

Pound4Pound.com just spoke with manager to Israel Vazquez, Frank Espinoza and cutman Joe Chavez. Both Espinoza and Chavez were more than surprised to read a report stating Chavez was the new trainer for Vazquez. Chavez was more surprised to read about a supposed conversation between he and trainer Freddie Roach in regards to taking over the reigns as trainer of Vazquez.

Espinoza said flat-out, "the report on b o x i n g t a l k is wrong, and I have no idea where they got that information.". Espinoza went on to say that he contacted the writer of the story to find out the source of his information, but at the present time there has been no returning call.

Espinoza did confirm that Chavez will be working in the corner of Vazquez for his next fight, but he will be sitting in the cutman spot as always.

With Roach having a lot of good fighters in his stable plus B-Hop saying he wants Roach as his trainer it wouldn't surprise me if Vasquez chose somebody else. Even though Roach and him seemed like a good team. I hope it isn't true and Vasquez stays with Freddie.
