Pathetic. The ritual of "touching up" goes back almost as long as the sport itself. The fact that that dude either A.) Didn't know about it or B.) Didn't care about it just makes me think he's a closet living pillowbiter.
Nice punch though. -
Although the first rule is "protect yourself at all times", touching gloves at the beginning of the fight is a tradition.
Felix Trinidad was real mean in the ring and hated touching gloves. I remember Zulu tried to touch gloves in round 4, and Tito ignored him and hit him with a left hook to the body.
Zulu ended up half conscious about 30 seconds later, BTW (not that him trying to touch gloves had anything to do with it).Comment

You should protect yourself at all times, but most boxers touch gloves to begin a fight unless they hate each other. Maybe he didn't touch his gloves because his shorts were so long. I haven't seen a boxer where shorts that long ever. I remember seeing a fighter where some long shorts on the Morales-Pac undercard I think, but they weren't that long.Comment

On top of that it was a looping punch, I can throw a better punch than that.
I don't know if that punch even landed, fixed fight to me.Last edited by No-mas-tias; 05-17-2007, 07:27 PM.Comment
