    Did Anyone Attend Corrales's Funeral?

Did anyone from here attend Diego Corrales's funeral by any chance? I didn't see any write ups on the any of the boxing websites about the memorial service so I thought I would ask.

I would love to know who went, especially as far as turnout and other fighters going to his wake. I was wondering if Castillo was there or not.

Had I had the money, I would've flown out myself just to pay my respects. Probably hang with your crazy ass afterwards, lol.

I went to the public viewing the day before the funeral. It was real weird to see him just laying there. He had like a grayish suit and a dog tag necklace on. They had all his belts on stands around his coffin, flowers sent from people like Jose Sulaimon, paintings of pictures from some of his fights. they had a big projector screen showing family pictures of him like on christmas and with freinds and pictures at weigh ins and with Mosely and Hagler and lots with him and his wife, they were playing some slow songs and one was "Three times a lady"... I dont know why they would play that at such a tough guys viewing but it really added to the saddness looking at him so happy with his wife and holding her preganant stomach while hearing it.

I was only there for like a half hour but I saw Richard Steele there. The news here talked about the viewing and showed Kevin Kelley and Chris Byrd there.

It was real sad. Like I said before, I never show sadness and I even make fun of people Ive known about how they were killed, but Diego COrrales dieing really hit me hard. I almost felt like crying.

I would have gone if it had been. Corrales is the reason I became a boxing fan, other than the friend who showed me the fight anyhow. If I didn't have so many knitting projects going already I would have made his mother something. The problem would have been finding out where to send it.
