been goin at it pretty hard for quite some time now and I am getting little nagging injuries to my elbows. When i hit the pads with a left hook my elbow feels like almost a shock going through, not tremendously painful but makes me think twice about bringing the heat. Right will hurt after about 50% of my heavy bag workouts as well. My question is this are these just nagging little injuries that I should continue to work through or is it going to continue to get worse and become more painful down the road and perhaps put an end to my boxing days. My feeling is that my body is just still getting used to the everyday trauma and will eventually find a way to deal with it. I know this is not an exact question but did anyone experience this when they started getting serious, goin hard and really pushing it?
had this up for 2 days in training and no one responded..help me out?

I have been doing it since I was 13, Im 35 now. I'm a assistant boxing instructor (not that that means **** I just like working with kids). It could be that you don't know how to hit the heavy bag. You shouldn't try and kill it every time. Most new fighters do that to try and show how hard they hit and don't even realize they aren't using their full potential.been goin at it pretty hard for quite some time now and I am getting little nagging injuries to my elbows. It's like hitting a golf ball, when you try and swing like a mad man you don't hit it right. When you allow the club to do the work you get that perfect sound and hit and the ball fly's. Boxing is the same, focus on technique more than power at first. Once you learn how to allow your hips to generate the power, you won't get the impact on your joints as much. Also, don't hit the bag on the way back to you. Hit the bag as it moves away from you to relieve the impact on your joints. Alot of guys I see at the gym nail the bag as it comes to them and they don't realize you can break a finger, hand or wrist doing that. The bag weighs over 100 pounds and has very little give, you should be cautious of that. Just a few hints man, I hope it helped you out.
I have left shoulder problems from hitting the heavy bag so much over the years, now I hit the lighter bag more and do more mit work.Comment
