i feel for chop chop maybe the refs cheated him like they did against cotto who knows???? chop chop kinda tuff no doubt... he been fighting everybody at his weight class.
when tyson came to louisville we saw a fighter get cheated i think the only reason was to make the broadcast on time 4 hbo... no lie i lost a lot of respect for ko records when i saw that fight and boxing in general... he slipped they stopped it and called it a ko no lieComment

Zab schooled Corley in their fight!!! I thought Corley was a well known boxer??? I guess he took this guy lightly an paid the price for it!!! If thats not the case an he didnt take this fight lightly then maybe this kid is guna be a good fighter to watch out for in the future!!!Comment

Thats what happens when you travel to a dump in nicaragua to fight a guy you dont know nothing about. Most of these guys pump their undefeated record and then come over to america for the big payday and get exposed but I this guy could be the real deal, I don't know.
You calling Nicaragua a DUMP??? Them is fighting words around these parts
I don't know where you come from homie...but don't be talking **** about the WHOLE country. We got champs and former champs..Arguello, Alvarez, Perez...and yea Mayorga..

José “Quiebra Jícara” Alfaro was billed as being the next best thing for some time now in Nicaragua..but he lost three bouts I think last year or the year before that and that brought some question marks, and the 'hope' had been lost. I have seen him train before when Mayorga was training for Tito...Alfaro is really good with the body shots.
He KOed Chop Chop in the 8th round. Jose Alfaro hit the canvass in the first round from a left hook by Chop Chop, he took over the fight from there on..in the sixth he sent Chop Chop to the canvass with is own hook. And in the 8th he sent down two more times. As for the ref being on Alfaro's side...thats a negative..he actually got a point dedcuted in the fight for a low blow.Last edited by cybernica; 05-14-2007, 01:58 AM.Comment

Here is the info from *********:
Former world champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley was surprisingly chopped down by Jose Alfaro in round eight of a lightweight bout on Saturday night at Casino Pharaohs in Managua, Nicaragua. Alfaro was down in round one, but got rolling soon after with a brutal body attack that dropped Corley in rounds six, seven and eight. Corley, who had challenged for the WBC title in his last fight, drops to 31-6-1, 17 KOs, while Alfaro, a loser of three of his last seven coming in, improves to 18-3 with 17 KOs. The bout took place on the WBA's annual "KO Drugs" card.Comment

Starved himself to make weight? Cotto had trouble keeping his head on at 140 with an empty stomach. Same thing happened twice to Pacquiao.
But Chop Chop has been on a downslope lately and starving perhaps made it worse. Not taking anything from this Nicaraguan. He could be the next Arguello. Who knows.Comment
