Any footage of Freddie Roach boxing??

I was watching Chris Eubank against Gary Stretch on Channel Five this morning (oh the memories, the celebrity turn-out was insane) and Barry McGuigan (commentating) said about Roach being one of the best featherweights and super-featherweights in the world in his time (Roach was in Stretch's corner)..

I want to see what he was like. Does anyone know?

I was around, and can remember seeing Roach on a couple of occasions, and I honestly don't remember him as being much beyond a rugged, game, and workmanlike trialhorse type (fringe contender at the very, very best, though I personally don't recall him ever featuring in any publication's ratings), who, if my recollections of his fights are accurate, was prone to getting cut up some.

He had a crowd pleasing style, and while he had a boxing career he can be very proud, it'd be a great exageration calling him "one of the best" of his time.

you really should find some of his fights, they are very action packed and well worth the search. he was goofy looking, but an incredible blood n guts fighter.

Roach was fun to watch back in the day when ESPN had boxing on, if I recall correctly, Thurdays. Those were the days, watching some great prospects and up-and-comers, with guys like Roach, Meekins, Brazier, Pendleton, Nunn and many others. Whether they made it to the top or not, what great fun.

I just looked up Freddie Roach on boxrec and not sure if I picked the right fighter. Was his career record 39-13 and his nickname "La Cucaracha?"

I just googles "Freddie Roach" and somewhere it says that he's developed "Pugilistic Parkinson's Syndrone" from his career as a boxer. Is this true? I've never heard anything about that before.

Yeah sadly it's true, they talked quite a lot about it in 24/7

I haven't seen too many interviews with him but from what I've seen he seems to be in good shape. What kind of symptoms does he exihibit?

Yeah, I think Freddie said he has tremors, and at times can't control parts of his body.

Isn't that kind of like what Ali has?
