It's hard to say who is better, I like both of 'em . One thing I know ,is that Beristain is the head honcho that oversees Mexican Amateur Boxing. It doesn't seem like Roach is that involve w/ USA Amateur Boxing, I know Roach does charity stuff for the LA area involving amateur boxing

It seems to me that Beristain can only work w/ a certain style and a certain type of fighter. I mean, If you look at all of Beristain's fighters, they all give you the same look, ie Finito, Juan and Rafa. Roach on the other hand, does not fall under one style. Freddie's focus is more on professional fighters/making $$$.

I'll put it this way, if Roach and Beristain were given two guys off the street w/ very little talent, I'll pick the Roach trained fighter, because he knows how to bring the most out of a fighter, whereas Beristain seems to have, to have a specific quality of fighter, ie natural counter-punchers, if the fighter is not a counter-puncher, then he wont' succeed in Beristain's program. Either way, both coaches have had a lot of success.

Maybe Juan Manuel Marquez should've jumped shipped and into Roach's camp, Juan might actually be a millionaire by now(lol). Freddie is all about the almighty $$$, see how he left the rest of his fighters to be babysat by his former partner Justine Fortune and took a vacation to Puerto Rico and made more money than Beristain has seen in his lifetime
