    Diaconu vs. Dawson: Who Wins?

Who will win if Adrian Diaconu fights Chad Dawson for the WBC Light Heavyweight title? Anyone who isn't sure about Diaconu should watch a replay of tonight's fight. People were very impressed with Adrian (including commentator Teddy Atlas).

This fight may happen - tonight's fight was the eliminator for the WBC title.

It would be a good matchup, but I think it would be somewhat like the fight with Adamek. Closer than that fight, but Dawson would use his better boxing skills to win a UD. Plus Mayweather Sr. is training him.

Dawson takes his head off. I liked what I saw from Diaconu tonight though. Very entertaining style.

I was just basically saying that it probably doesn't hurt having him in the corner. It seems like a decent fit since Floyd Sr laid the ground work for PBF's style and Dawson is pretty slick and athletic for his size. In his last fight with Adamek it was like a PBF UD except the KD part.

Adrian Diaconu's not ready yet. As of now he'd lose.

                Adrian Diaconu

I think Diaconu might surprise a lot of people and beat Dawson, he destroyed Hoye last night. He is an Edison Miranda type of fighter who agressively goes for the KO, but he is also solid defensively. Some will now say Hoye was a tomato can, but most people were picking Rico to win last night.

Diaconu has a fan friendly style, but the technical side of his game needs a lot of improvment if he wants to have any chance against Dawson. It would be nice to think that he could have a major battle with Dawson in the same manner that Joe Frazier battled Muhammad Ali. Unfortunately I have a feeling that the fight will only amount to a boxing an embarrassing boxing lesson. Quite frankly I don't think there is anybody below heavyweight who could beat Dawson. As a matter of fact he could give most of the heavyweights a boxing lesson!

Well, it now looks like this fight is going to happen! It's not finalized, but they'll likely be fighting on November 10.
