they shouldn't have put the fight on PPV, they could easily get a giant audience if it wasn't. opening more peoples eyes to get the intrest back into boxing, but no they have to be greedy and rip people off with $50 ppv. Reason boxing isn't as popular as it used to be is because if anyone becomes famous in the sport people have to pay alot of money to see them, its ruining the sport. I couldn't give a **** what celebrity turns up after paying $10,000 for a front row ticket to be on there cell fone through the fight.
Did HBO Squander a Pretty Golden Opportunity?

If Oscar had won I think you wouldve felt differently, because while the fight wouldve still been not up to the hype at least the judges and boxing in general wouldve taken a stand against nonaggression and cheap potshots to their opponents gloves as landed powershots.Comment

Maybe people in New York are weird. People in jersey like fighters like ward/gatti. We don't like boring ass counter-punchers, we like warriors who beat the living **** out of each other. We don't like how they are paid to dance and not fight. This is boxing, it's a fight not a dance-off.Comment

I also think they squandered a huge opportunity to draw more fans to boxing but not the way many of you guys think. I think HBO should've had bigger names on the under-card.
Imagine the fan's that Pavilk or Miranda would've gained if there fight had taken place on the undercard. Sure it would've been more expensive but they would've recuped so much more money later. They could've really show cased a few different young fighters including Juan Guzman.
Instead, with the world watching we were subjected to a totally mismatched Juarez-Hernandez which was soo boring that they even put Mayweather Sr. to babble for 2 rounds.Comment

Then why is Calslappy and Bitchnard are 2 of your favorite fighters.Maybe people in New York are weird. People in jersey like fighters like ward/gatti. You guys aren’t seeing the big picture. This really wasn’t that bad of a fight. The problem with boxing is that they price people out of the sport with the whole notion of PPV.
Another problem is that the sport does not educate the casual fans. Every major sport has a show at least part of time talks about the X’s and O’s of the sport. Boxing isn’t honest with his fans. This fight should have been marketed as tactical battle. Let the people that want to see a war wait for Hatton Castillo.Comment
