I agree, with Duddy the talent isn't there. Andy Lee is an Irish fighter with similar qualities who could very well have the talent to eventually reach the top of the middleweight division. I think he will be a huge name. Kessler it would be nice to get him on American soil and yes, he could be a very big name. The problem is that he is soo huge in Denmark he almost doesn't need to.
a fighter who could of helped boxing an been super huge 6 years ago would of been JOE CALZAGHE he has the accent the looks and he can scrap and american women would idolize him easy just like they did with oscar plus he doesnt have that annoying voice that oscar has.Comment

On another note I saw Andy Lee was taking on Billy Mitchum in his next fight. It says on boxrec that Mitchum is 48 yrs old. It's funny because Mitchum made his pro debut when Andy was only six months old. Hopefully Lee Knocks him the **** out like he did Daniels in his last fight.Comment

Povetkin
I'd like to see Alexander Povetkin come and fight in North America. He might not be as popular with females and gays as Duddy and DLH, but real sport fans would appreciate him. I wish the mainstream media would pay more attention to fighters like he and Miranda, they're the kind of people who could really increase the popularity of boxing because they're so entertaining.Last edited by Steelhammer86; 05-10-2007, 12:07 AM.Comment

ya but only in new york they need to get him on leno, letterman, conan, and espn and different radio stations like they do with the ufc fighters...they need to be more aggressive and thats the problem with managers and promoters in boxing lack of aggression.Comment

No they don't. He isn't going to be the next big thing. He's hype right nowComment

John Duddy? Hahaha lol, their is a reason why boxing isn't so popular as before because we got fighters like John Duddy stinking up the joint. Mikkel Kessler? He's already a top fighter, it's just that some fighters can never be popular in the U.S. Mikkel Kessler and John Duddy will never become popular in the U.S. Have them appear on Jay Leno? None of those fighters are marketable and not every top fighter is going to appear on Jay Leno. You have to be REALLY great to be on Jay Leno. I think fighters like Chad Dawson, Edison Miranda, Andy Lee, Miguel Cotto and many others have a chance of making the sport popular again. I personally don't care if Boxing doesn't have the mainstream appeal as it used to be, as long as their is great fights and great fighters, then that's when people start paying attention. You don't try to shove a fighter down someone's throat when their unproven. Boxing will always have marketable fighters, it's just that they need to prove that in the ring first before they become popular.Comment

They don't even show off Andy Lee enough, the only reason I know of his name is from this website. I haven't seen one of his fights but seen several of duddy's... Yet, people are saying Lee is the one with the future in boxing...Comment
