In Floyds time the other master boxer at the time was El Cepillo, Joel Casamayor. And Hbo didn't want that fight and they used to say how boring it would be and Floyd didn't **** on the doors for a fight with Casamyor. In the end, this fight would only be broadcast by Showtime and only if there promoters allowed them to fight.Comment

2 of the best defenders and sure HOFs colliding.
It would be an extremely low contact bout, but... it would be incredible to see the defensive moves that would be displayed in that fight.
I'd probably pick Pernell to win it.Comment

I have to agree with HBO... that fight would be dreadfully boring. Casamayor was involved in some exciting fights, but that was only when he was in with exciting guys like Freitas, or Corrales...In Floyds time the other master boxer at the time was El Cepillo, Joel Casamayor. Casamayor's side to side, circle the entire ring at a quick shuffle pace, movement is one of the most irritable things I have seen in the ring.
This would be another low contact bout, without the thrill of incredible defensive moves (because Casamayor was really not that great of a slipper, he just moved away before a shot could be thrown back for his defense for the most part)... I would probably watch this one just to see who won, knowing that it was going to be a pretty miserable watch.Comment

Yes, and it wouldn't be that bad.
Mayweather is more aggressive (hittable) against lefties, such as the Corley and Judah bouts.
Whitaker wasn't even that defensive-minded a lot of times anyway. He had a solid workrate and could stay in the pocket throwing shots. He even got some criticism in his 135 lbs, such as the Paez fight, for spending too much time trading when he could've been a little more defensive. His fights had a sort of repetitive thing about them, blandness, same old 12 round shutout, but it wasn't as if he was always on the move and stinking it out.Comment
