Letter urging Corrales Induction into the Hall This year.

Dear Sirs:

This letter is being written on behalf of the legacy of Fighting Spirit and Skills of Diego “Chico” Corrales. He not only showed us you can make a comeback in your career or particular fight, but in your life as well. He gave the boxing public Ten plus years of his blood, sweat, tears, skills and refusal to quit. He was a destructive force of power disquised by his thin frame and excellent boxing skills. No Matter how many times he was knocked down he tried to get up. Their was no dog in Corrales, he was a throwback to the old days. His heart and will allowed us a glimpse at the past. He provided us with thrills and never took the easier way out on his stool, he was determined to go out on his shield even when outgunned. He was a fighters fighter cut in the mold of Sandy Saddler and hopefully we will see the likes of him again. Judging by todays current state, it is likely they broke the mold. He came back from layoffs back to the top and was written off more than once, but he never quit.

It is the opinion of consensus boxing fans in the know that early consideration for his induction to your great Hall of Fame is warranted in lieu of his tragic demise. Perhaps deticating this years induction ceremony in his honor would be more appropriate.

Frankly the state of the hall inductees has been dwindling in years past outside of the current. Diego “Chico” Corrales should be honored with a posthumous induction at this years proceedings, while his legacy is fresh on the public minds. God forbid he is only a footnote as a forgotten man in five plus years from now like befell so many others.

Please take this into consideration immediately on behalf of the memory and legacy Diego left behind. The fans deserve a true warrior enshrined and Chico does especially.
