Max Kellerman made a great point on his radio show today about Corrales

Guys like Gatti get all the credit for being the "ultimate warrior" in today's era, but with Gatti, there came a point in matches when he knew that he couldn't win (like with Mayweather), yet he fought on due to his huge heart.

Corrales ALWAYS believed that he could win no matter what. Whether rising up from the 5th knockdown or swallowing blood from the giant lacerations in his mouth, he STILL thought he could knock his opponent out.

    You'll be missed dearly, Chico.

One of the moments that I will always remember is when how mad he got when his stepdad stopped the fight early against Mayweather. Most would have quit after the third KD, but Chico didn't. Even though he knew he was losing he still wanted to finish and deep down he felt he could still win. You see so many people in all sports from the high school level and up that give up, anybody who is an athlete should watch a Chico fight. He gives everything he gots until that final bell and in the end everybody gives him respect win or lose.

He would put on a show everytime, his fights were guaranteed to be action packed. He was a more skilled version of Gatti.

Chico always had a puncher's chance in his fights...after the first fight against Castillo I thought how does a man take that kind of punishment and still win? After that I also admired him just for the strength he showed, a lesser man wouldve folded, some men wouldve died taking the damage he took...

I didn't see Gatti complaining for real when the Floyd fight was stop. Chico was livid. Do you think Chico wouldn't have tried to get up from Baldis shots. We are talking the difference between a Camaro and Mercedes in terms of heart.

Corrales is definitely one of the gutsiest fighters of this era, along with others like Morales and Gatti.
