Chico exemplified exactly everything that is still great about boxing. He fought everybody and ducked nobody. He always gave his all and never gave up. He was a champion. A warrior. A father. A husband. Today the world lost one of the great ones.

Man...I wish Chico was still here.

There is nobody out there who can match this guy's heart, personality, and strength. The thing that made this even more sad is that he was a quality person. RIP CHICO...

The sport of Boxing just suffered a knockdown.

The guy had so much heart and will, and he was such a vibrant part of the sport, that it is hard for me, even now in the face of all this, to believe that he's not getting back up from this one. It is just very very sad.

Somebody said this earlier in one of the threads, but I actually felt physically ill after I read the news at first also.

Wow, what you said is so true...he won't be getting up from this one and it really, really sucks.

No doubt man, it was just shocking. No other way of describing it.

There really should be some sort of award or grant or something established in Chico's memory. I wonder what organization one would go to (or lobby to) in order to encourage this to happen.

I really can't believe that he is gone. If Chico's friends or family do indeed frequent these boards (or any), I am so very very sorry for your loss. He was somebody that left the sport better than when he entered it and touched as well as inspired a lot of people. Hopefully this can provide you with even the smallest of comforts.
