I HATE that black REF that did the BAUTISTA fight saturday night.

I HATE that guy. The worst REF in boxing.

Bautista Knocked Medina down, And WHILE Medina was on the Canvas he was actually yelling at him go to a nutrual corner!

    Did anybody else notice that?

    What an idiot.

Oh, and in case you didn't know, im 99% sure this is the same guy that stopped COTTO-CORLEY rediculously early.

I think it was Bryd. I don't know his first name I think its Richard, but I don't know. I guess he is already a hall of famer. He did the Arreola-Tann fight the day before. Bernstein said he was one of the best refs around. I agree with you though, Bautista was in serious trouble and could have been KO if it wasn't for that standing eight count he ruled.

The guy who ref'ed Cotto-Corley was a Puerto Rican dude who had very little to no experience. I always thought Byrd was one of the better refs in the business. I thought he did a good job of keeping the action going.

That standing 8 was a good call by the ref. and he jumped in at the right moment. If it werent for the ropes Bautista would already have been down but not out. When he touched the ropes to keep himself up that is considered a KD. If he would have gotten hit at anytime after he kept himself up it could have been over but he would have been down anyway if not for the ropes so Bautista really should have just taken a knee or fallen but he had too much heart for that. Its a good thing for boxing though because Rey is an exciting fighter. I thought the low blow calls were off though.

People forget that the standing 8 is still in the rules. Nobody does it anymore though. I thought it was a good call.
