    Hopkins legacy

What is your take on Bernard Hopkins' legacy in the sport. I think as it stands now he's a shoe in for the top 5 all time greatest Middleweights, and definately in the list of all time greats, number of course subject to debate.

Where does he stand win/lose against Winky Wright?

    People will always say...

1.) He lost too the two best middlweights he faught. They forget to add that Hopkins was 40 years old when he lost to the 26 year old Taylor. And both fights were competitive. And lets be honest, Hopkins was still in the process of becoming a great fighter when he faught Roy Jones.
2.) He never faught nobody. People say Hopkins dominated a weak era, which is true. However, 10 years is 10 years and 20 defenses to me is still impressive.
3.) He beat guys who moved up in weight. This is true but Trinidad demolished William Joppy who was a natural 160 pounder so I don't think he was compete joke a middleweight. And plus I think it was more Bernard's skills that beat Trinidad not his size. Atleast thats the way I see it...Put a sub par guy Hopkins size against Tito and he would taken him out.

In my opinion hes an all time great based on ring smarts/skills, longevity/(being able to fight great into his 40's and compete with young guys.), toughness and work ethic. To me he does deserve credit for his master piece against Tito aswell, that was a great performance. A win against Winky would be good but if he loses I would'nt take away his whole career. And plus he is 42, at some point all athletes can not perform like they use to. Although I would give Winky credit because Bernard is a great fighter even in his 40's.
