Savon was a grown man beating on kids in the amateurs, but that doesn't change the fact that he could have succeeded as a pro, if you've watched him you'd know that he was very talented and could have gone far.
Well, #1 Felix was a mature man beating up young men.
#2, the pro ranks are littered with failed fighters who had great records at the amateur level. Very few have been successful but their names are now household names: SRL, Mayweather, Holyfield, Hoya, Clay/Ali, Foreman etc etc
If Savon had turned pro, he would have been fighting in the 90's and the days of Holyfield, Moorer, Bowe, Lewis, Tyson. If he had been a contender, it would have interesting, that's for sure. I doubt he would have dominated, he may or may not have won a title, he'd probably have been KO'd a few times as well. I would take Lewis or Holyfield to have beaten him. Bowe made mincemeat of Gonzalez. As did a few other guys. Great amateurs do not always make great pros.
