So after the fight did not match the hype, Lampley was ****** enough to give boxing's biggest competition FREE publicity to MILLIONS of people. It's like the old saying goes, 'all publicity is good publicity'.

At least WWF is fun to watch but I just don't see anything great about MMA or UFC, the fights are extremely short to.

Just to humor you I'll reply. I watch both, but I admit more MMA. I usually go to a buddy from my gym's house for FREE MMA shows. He has a huge TV and usually BBQ. He rarely orders boxing PPVs. I've actually not ordered an MMA PPV in years. In that time I've ordered a few boxing ones. The last 2 Tyson fights(don't laugh, I grew up watching him), The last 2 Toney fights too. And the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight, which I think Floyd won. I have FoxSports, so I get to see alot of bigger fights for free, just weeks later, like Malignaggi-Cotto. I've seen Jesus Chavez fight in person, when he fought that Thai guy, as it was in Austin where I live. I don't watch as much boxing as before, not because I don't like it but because back in the day it all used to be free. Tuesday Night Fights, HBO, Wide World of Sports all had championship fights. Now most are PPV.
I've cornered guys I train with many times in MMA and admittedly only once in boxing. I train both, but honest I'm better on the ground. Being 35, I'm not as fast as I used to be, and the ground game is slower.
Another thing I prefer MMA on is the matchups. Generally huge matchups happen, its a smaller sport still. I've always wished Tyson had fought Lewis in the early 90s. Don King ****ed that up. All the various ABC belts, managers, promoters have all hurt the sport IMO. The best no longer fight the best, and its not the fighters fault.
That good enough for ya?Last edited by 1bad65; 05-07-2007, 08:00 PM.

I love MMA, the match ups are awesome, anyone can win or lose and theres some exciting knockouts
I love boxing because I always have, I watch K1 also because its fast paced and the competition is so even
theres more than just boxing out there for combat sports fans
I refuse to argue over which is better because there all completely different sports, I know Babe Ruth would have ****** bad at cricket just as I know Floyd Mayweathwer isnt cut out for MMA

I try to keep an eye on Brian Vera, he's from Austin, but he has fought on TV a time or two. I saw him fight once here in town too. He has skills, if he is managed well he could go far.
It still bothers me you say MMA is fake. Like I said, I've seen firsthand some nasty injuries. And some of them happened to guys I train with. That you say that does upset me alot, but I admit it does.
