I’m not going to call him an ATG because of what happened last night, I wont consider him an ATG great for what he did at 140/147 but I will hail him an ATG for stuff he did at 130/135, phenomenal stuff there.

doesn't the fact that he started at 130, moved up and eventually beat a first ballot hall of fame fighter at 154, mean anything to his legacy? who else has done that?

There is no such thing as an all time great that hasnt engaged in a memorable trilogy. Ali had Frazier, Leonard had Duran, Robinson had LaMotta, Willie Pep had Sandy Sadler. Who does Floyd have?

Absolutely true. Aside from that any all time great has other all time greats on their resume, as previously mentioned. Mayweather beat a great fighter in Oscar De La Hoya and it certainly upped his credibility in my eyes. However Oscar isn't enough. In order for him to be an all time great, he needs to settle the debates about the up and comers, contenders to the throne if you will. Cotto, Margarito, Williams, and a win over Moseley would help greatly as well.

If he fights those guys, there will be no question about his legacy and I will get his face tattooed on my pastey white ass. As things are now, he's great and he's got a great resume. But beating Oscar isn't enough and it certainly isn't time to hang up the gloves, not when he still has so much potential.

I'm still not convinced but it could just be his style doesn't make any of his fights look that good. But either way, put me down as someone that never thought Floyd beat anyone good and will be forgotten or talked about as a wannabie in the books.
don't worry, i've already put you down as a no knowledgeable boxing guru. you are one of the prime examples when i talk about posters who lack substance. you points are redundant and meniscule. they are recycled garbage, and they consist only of bashing a guy's legacy who has fought his ass of to get where he is today. add to that, he's never lost a fight, and he is considered an all time great, even if you don't believe so. your beliefs at this point and time are bull****. they mean not a damn thing, and i don't think they will for a long time. so, you can take this obviosly hateful thread and swallow it, because it's nothing more than nonsense.

Yeah but one has to get beaten in order for a trilogy to be made, when no one can beat floyd how is he going to have a trilogy?

All of the guys you mentioned had been beaten atleast once by their opponent.

How can you possibly have a trilogy when you haven't lost?

Listen here you wanker. Clearly your name title is the only thing you know. Your saying Floyd who beats a Baldomir, 9 losses going into the fight and absolutely nothing to bring to the table that could upset Floyd. Floyd who beats Gatti, 6 losses going into that fight and who the hell gave him a chance? Floyd who beats a Zab Judah who had just been beaten by Carlos Baldomir, yet retains a title and that's what was put up on the line. Floyd who beats the likes of Henry Bruseles,Sharmba Mitchell, Demarcus Corley, Ndou, and barely gets by Castillo in the first fight. These few recent guys that were the top level of his competition mean absolutely nothing. You gotta be seriously sucking it hard if you think he's a legend after beating them. Muchless, none of his wins over any of these guys were exciting that you'd want to see them again. This guys a joke, but keep sucking it, I know you like it.
