1-Oscar's Jab. I completely disagree about how good his jab was. Alot of people are saying that Oscar wouldve won the fight if he wouldve stayed with his jab since it was so successful. I too thought he jab was very good but I think it was only that good because he seldomly used it. He caught Floyd off guard every time he used it. Thats why Floyd smiled after it all the time. If Oscar wouldve did that all fight then it wouldnt have worked. The whole reason why it was so great was because it came out of nowhere. If he threw it all the time then Floyd wouldve easily took that away like he took his left away. Floyd is the best in boxing right now at making adjustments. Thats the reason why I think he would definatly beat Mosley. Shane fights the same way no matter what and cant make changes. Floyd can always adjust during a fight. I was watching his early fights on ESPN last night and even back then Al Bernstien was talking about how Floyd made an adjustment early in the 2nd round. You dont see that from young fighters. Oscar's jab is good and worked well but only because it was seldomly used.
2- Oscar's flurries. I have to go back and rewatch it to see what round it was in but I think it was like the 5th or 6th round. This was at the time when the commentators were sweating Oscar. In that round Floyd was already doing his thing in the Center of the ring but for some reason the commentators kept talking about Oscar. Then Oscar got Floyd on the ropes and unleashes a big time flurry. The crowd and the commentators went crazy. I was screaming at the TV because I saw something totally different. Right when Oscar was about to start the flurry, Floyd timed him and caught him flush with a blistering right that basically buckled Oscar, then he goes on to block like the next 5 punches while everyone is going crazy, and then he throws another straight right that again catches Oscar flush, and ends by blocking all the rest of the punches in the flurry. I think Lederman saw this because he gave the round to Floyd. Then after the round they showed the replay and guess what they showed? They showed Floyd landing that big right, blocking like the next 4 or 5 punches and then countering with another straight right but the replay cuts off right before it lands. The idiot commentators were to dumb to even realize that it was the same flurry they went crazy about. To me that just summed up the whole fight because there were alot of situations like that in the fight although less dramatic. I bet you guys will see those things when you rewatch it.
3- The 12th round. I like to call 12th rounds the "stat padders". They make fights look closer then they seem. Alot of people gave this round to Oscar but I thought Floyd couldve definatly won it. Still, the only reason why it went like that is because the fight was basically over. You could tell in the corner after the 11th that Floyd's corner felt they had the fight in the bag and Oscar's corner basically felt they needed a KO or atleast finish really strong. If Floyd felt the fight was in doubt then he wouldve fought differently. You could easily tell he relaxed. If he didnt do that then he wouldve killed Oscar like he was doing the previous few rounds. Thats why I dont even count the 12th round in alot of these kind of fights. Most people who had it 7-5 for Floyd gave the 12th to Oscar. To me it wasnt a real round because you could tell that Floyd basically cruised while Oscar tried very hard. That means coming into that round you had it 7-4 for Floyd and thats how the fight really was. Alot of people had it 8-4 for Floyd but gave Oscar the 12th. Again, that shouldve been 8-3 for Floyd. Even the HBO commentators knew the fight wasnt in doubt when the 12th round hit.
