Pacquiao Faces Financial Problems

The group that is putting together the scheduled fight between Ring Magazine featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao and WBO Intercontinental champion Gairy St. Clair of Australia is reportedly not prepared to put up more than a maximum of $650,000 or about P40 million to underwrite the entire cost of staging the event scheduled for December 4 at the Araneta Coliseum. This means that there would have to be a reduction in the original purse offers for Pacquiao and St. Clair.

Promoter Murad Muhammad had earlier disclosed that he had $650,000 available from sponsors and indicated that Pacquiao would receive a purse of $500,000 or about P28 million which would leave $150,000 for the purse of St. Clair and all other expenses involved in putting the fight together. Pacman delivers an exciting fight. But boxing is about money too. No choice but to wait for the result of the Morales-Barrera bout. Succeeding events depend on this bout.
Even a credible win by Larios might provide something for bargaining.

HBO has the money not JMM. I too doubt that that will happen but it's not because JMM is a big risk to Manny . . . it's because JMM doesn't want to fight Manny.

Do you know what you are saying? Has the money and called PAC out? Isn’t that contrary to the truth that it was Pac calling JMM, Morales and MAB openly and all they did was to trick the guy so he can be booted out of the picture? Do you know the fact that ****i’n Arum and JMM was talki’n about a rematch with team Pacquiao while it turned out later that Arum already closed the deal with Salido?

JMM has the money? Well how much did JMM earned against Salido. $350,000.00? And How much did he earned against Manny the last time around? HBO’s budget was $ 1.5 million;And the offer was $1 million for Manny and $500,000 for JMM and yet Pacquiao agreed to cut that $ 1.5 into half just to let that fight happen. Now you are talking of JMM having the money and being a big risk as the reason why I wouldn’t happens? Oh common! And Read my post again if I specifically said JMM is a not a risk . . . . I’ll interpret or rephrase that for you if you don’t understand that. I simply pointed out that YOUR THEORY is not the reason why this fight won’t happen.

Some more facts ULTIMATE . . . . “ Just like HBO decided that in jin chi was too big a risk for pac and elected not to allow him to fight him” That’s just your opinion . . . . the truth is In Jin Chi was never even considered by HBO as Pac’s opponents because Chi is not a profitable investment at the moment. He is not a crowd drawer. While team Pac still continued their negotiations with Team Chi that intended fight could have never been covered by HBO and could only possibly happen outside U.S. You know why it didn’t materialized? Because Chi is asking for a purse not a cent lower than what Pacquiao is about to receive. So again it’s because of MONEY and not because of the “RISK” involve.

I’m not a JMM hater, let’s just stick to the facts. Pacquiao will get money fighting Morales or a rematch with MAB, but JMM? He’ll be the one giving JMM money.

If Murad, Nazario, Elorde and all others renounce their respective share of Manny's purse (which can go up to a good 50%), then perhaps, Manny can agree to a purse of say, 300,000.00 US$, EACH SINGLE CENT OF WHICH IS GOING STRAIGHT TO HIM. St. Clair MAY be persuaded to take 50,000 US$ which may be the biggest purse he will ever have or have had up to the day of the Manny meeting. That shaves off 300,000.00 US$ ( A LITTLE SOUTH OF HALF OF 650,000.00)from the current costs that are being bandied about!

St. Clair may concede. But, will those three crooks give in to such a request? Yeah, yeah...I know your answer.
