"The fight was fixed", "Oscar took the easy way out". I cannot believe what I am hearing here. You people are a bunch of Conspirocy maniacs! Bernard hit him a with a body shot that would have flatten anyone. Great fight and it'll be an even rematch when it takes place. As for Oscar taking the "easy" way out. All throughout his career this man has strived to be the best in his sport. This is a true champion and there is no way in hell he'd ***** out like that.

Who would he be threatned by? Hopkins has no promoter so their would be no don king or anything like that as an influence and fixed fights/bribery/threats are no hopkins style.....I know Arum is representing hopkins now, but Oscar is the bigger name and holds no real incentive for arum to threaten DLH...Although I did see before the dlh/hopkins fight that guy from the nevada state athletic commission, came out and talked to arum and the guy left and when arum got rocked and knocked down arum sat their with a smile on his face....

So many theories, but a lot are forgetting that hopkins was the bigger/stronger/better boxer....No shame on De la hoya for it.

You can't have a conspiracy of one. Anyone will give up under certain types of duress.....I don't think the fight was fixed. I DO think DLH took a dive, not in the classic sense of the word but he definitely hammed it up and removed any further risk to his face. I am glad he gave up...he could have tried to turn it into a track meet for 3.5 rounds ALA' the Trinidad fight and I would have been out 2 dimes.

I dont dispute your theory either, that dlh knew he was in for a beating and quit. It is hard to fathom but it isnt unlikely although it isnt oscars style to lay down..Run yes but not lay down....The delayed reaction is what makes me wonder and it not being a clear shot with that much power, Although I never took a shot like that and cant really comment on it....

Also I dont know why so many people are throwing a fit and making all of these accusations as just a week or so ago the general feeling was that DLH was going to get murdered. Just because hopkins didnt land a combination to oscars chin this raises questions...Hell if hopkins did knock out de la hoya from rocking him on the chin, I would question that as De La Hoya has a rock hard granite super titanium steel chin....

I believe their is nothing to dispute and oscar got hit by a brutal shot and that if he did quit it wasnt because of anyone backstage but rather him knowing he bite off way more then he can chew...He took his defeat like a man and showed no concerns for shame towards him....

          Thumbs up oscar

          Thumbs up Bernard

I agree completely, he was genuinely hurt by that punch. Anyone saying it's fixed is a pretty nieve insult to throw, if you have eye's and common sense you will see it was not fixed.

It looked melodramatic to me....watch Oscar on his walk out of the venue...carefully.

It's not hard to fathom BECAUSE EVEN DLH HIMSELF REPEATEDLY SAID THAT HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO DO THE IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!

does anybody have the fight on tape or dvd?, go back to the 9th round about 30 secs b4 the KO, you can hear someone yelling out BodyShot over and over again, atleast a good 5 times as if telling either fighter get ready. I hope that the fight wasnt fixed and hope that if a rematch takes place that Oscar is'nt given the win for having hopkins in a huge favorite towards Odds. The way that Vegas makes money. I knew that Hopkins could not KO DLH by hitting him on the chin I never though that he could do it with a bodyshot. The shot did not look like much but then again it was right on the liver. Grap your hand and punch that side Soft you can feel it if you hit it in the right place so a shot from a true middle weight can do the trick.
