What happened and what is still to come, Harry Simon was a decorated Amateur and Olympian and by all means could have been the next big thing in the LMW and MW divisions........... Simon captured his first title in 1998 by defeating a very game and 1 loss fighter by the name of Ronald Wright.... Simon went on to defend the WBO LMW title he won from Wright 4 times before moving up to the MW Ranks where in his 1st fight he took on Hacine Cherifi for the WBO interim title, after working Cherifi over for 12 rounds Simon was rewared a UD but not the title, in his next fight he took on the guy who had vacated the title but recived it back and beat him up for 12 rounds to become the NEW WBO Middleweight champ.............. This was back in 2002, after a stint of events that left Harry Simon seriously injured and 5 people dead (3 in Nov, 2 earlier) not to mention a 2 year jail sentence the world had not heard or seen Simon for some time......... That all changed March 3rd, 2007 as Simon stepped foot back in the ring for the 1st time in over 5 years to face undefeated Stephen Nzuemba, Simon won the bout quite easily, but it leaves the question can and will the 34 yr old Harry Simon ever rise or surpass the fame that he once encountered..... Called a sprawling boxer with good speed and defense with the power to take down any opponent any given night i sure hope this guy can rekindle atleast a spark of what he once did!

Harry Simon was relentless, his fight against winky was impressive, i've never seen another fighter get to winky so much, perhaps vasquez. Shame that he wasn't able to fight more big fights in his prime and I guess we'l never know how good he was or could have been. Don't think he will be able to get back to his best in this comeback.

I've never seen the fight with Winky but I read that it was initially declared a draw and Simons hometown crowd went crazy so they overturned it and gave the narrow victory to Simon.......Is that true?

Hmm I dont remember that happening, but I cant be sure. I saw the fight quite a while ago and not sure if I saw the decision. It was a close fight for sure but in the mid rounds Simon was all over Winky. It was in Simon's backyard though.
