It was in the States where he prayed to Allah before the Barrera fight. IN THE RING! And this was the weekend of Easter. Insiders of Naz's camp said he picked that date to show to his fellow ******s that a ****** was greater than a Christian.

But Barrera was the Crusader that night and crucified him. Long Live Barrera!

Now now, let's not overrate Augie Sanchez. He was far from great. He was said to have one of the worst chins in boxing with his KO losses sending him to the hospital and supposely banned due to how violently his KO losses were. Really Hamed just fought a glass chinned guy that had a nice looking record.

Barerra WAS a tremendous fighter, certainly the better on the night and he IS a legend. But claiming Naz to be 'overhyped' when I'm almost certain that you only saw one of his fight...thus not knowing what hype there was to live up to, nor how he had done so previously. Furthermore, its commonly accepted and fairly widespread information that Naz was on his way out when he fought Barerra. He'd lost his love for Boxing. Was not training as much, was struggling in fights, wasnt as dedicated or commited and was relying on his power to win him fights. Its not hard to find the information that backs this up.
I understand what you are saying mate. But I didnt call Naz a bum, I just said he was way overrated. I said it back the and I live in Britain. It just seemed to me that he was fighting nobodies, or people well past their prime. Even back then I couldnt understand why people were saying he was almost p4p number 1. He never beat anyone to merit that! Christ he never even went on to fight Junior Jones or Kennedy McKinney like he was supposed to. His biggest fight before Barrera was Kevin Kelley, he gets knocked down a few times and the pulls out a great KO! That aint good enough to be ranked among the top ten of the p4p! I mean he was within the top 3 before the Barrera fight, that was bull****.
Look at Hatton, he had to fight and the beat the best in his division to even break through to the big time. But it is arguable that even though Hatton wasnt fighting the best opposition before Tszyu, he was fighting better fighters than Naz. Thats what I mean when I say he was a myth. His biggest fight comes up against Barrera, and lets be honest, Barrera gave him a bit of a lesson. There were times in that fight were Naz looked like a lost schoolboy, he had no answer. At the end he ended up clapping Barrera.
As regards not knocking Naz out, since when does knock out prove anything? By the reasoning of some on here BARRERA DIDNT KNOCK NAZ OUT = BARRERA DIDNT TEACH NAZ A LESSON= NAZ WASNT A BUM! Naz had a great chin, I couldnt believe how he stood up to some of the punches Barrera landed! But he was wobbled three clear times, and the fact that he took so many clean punches says a lot. Never mind the fact that Barrera was constantly outjabbing the southpaw Naz! IT SAYS A LOT WHEN THERE ARE NO KO'S BUT EVERYONE IN THE ARENA IS CLEAR ABOUT WHO HAS JUST WON THE FIGHT. HELL EVEN NAZ KNEW. IT JUST WASNT CLOSE, BARRERA WAS A CLEAR WINNER!

Im sure it was you who posted this before, and i asked where u got that info from.
I still think Hamed, although an *******, wouldnt have gone so far and made it so personal.

Personally, ive gone from being a fan, to really hating him, and now really appreciating his skills and the drama he brought to each fight.
He wasnt as good as he thought he was, and he acted like a ****** idiot alot of the time, and made himself look a fool.
But he was great for boxing.

Lets not re write what happened to your hero guys. He was supposed to beat a supposedly washed up, one dimensional Marco Antonio Barrera in the weight class were he was king. What happened...........he got a ****ing boxing lesson from a man who was considered a one dimensional slugger!

PRINZE NASEEM- fought ****ing stiffs until he got in with Kevin Kelley. Great fight, he got flattened a few times before he Ko'd Kelley. Then he goes on to the Great Augie Sanchez and once again gets put down while looking suspect the whole fight. He comes through again. Then he steps up to world class....BARELY LANDS A TELLING PUNCH ON BARRERA!!!!

PRINZE NAZ= ONE OF THE BIGGEST ****ING MYTHS TO EVER APPEAR IN BOXING! RIP NAZ, YOU GOT FOUND OUT AGAINST BARRERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well stated. You hit the nail on the head.

I loved every moment of this fight. It's the only match where I lost my composure and started jumping up and down screaming and yelling at the TV. I'll never forget when Barrera put the Naz in the corner, face first like Naz was his *****. One of my favorite fights ever!

I hear Naz still serving a prison sentence for running someone over while drunk or on drugs. That person is now permanently disabled, wheelchair for life.

            Peace!

He made the prayer, didn't he? He's never done that before. Not at a stage as big as that. I'm sure there's some truth to this. If not 100% accurate, it's something to think about based on his actions that night.

then either naz knows very little about islam, or the "insiders" are talking ****. i think the latter.

i personally think naz just started using his religion as an angle...an over-the-top promtional stunt to create more controversy and therefore generate more interest and £££s in his fights.

religion and sport should remain separate...its bad enough a lot of people only support boxers from their own countries, so lets not extend it to religions as well.
