no matter what he says, who are you to say anything?
Who are you to say anything? You've had only an handful sparring sessions. This is a forum and everybody is allowed to give their opinions on a fighter even if they didn't necessarily accomplish more. That is what we do on boxing forums, give our opinions.

Eddie Futch was and Freddie Roach is a much much better trainer than Roger Mayweather. Mayweather's meal ticket is training his nephew. He hasn't accomplished anything training any other fighter, and if he wasn't family, I doubt Floyd Jr. would be working with him since no other prominent fighters have worked with him.

Roger Mayweather should focus on his next bout against his son's grandmother. Maybe he was a better fighter than Freddie Roach, but not in a million years would Roach have quit on his stool like Mayweather did against Chavez, and you wouldn't see Roach going around beating up old ladies. Roach is twice the trainer and twice the man that Roger Mayweather is.

Yeah Roger didnt really seem to know what to say so he spit some verbal diarrhea. Instead of talking aobut the fight, he's talking about how he was arrested when the fight was made and how they were treating him like OJ. Jumping from one subject to another and then forgetting where he started...seemed a little crackish to me.

Rogre...and Floyd Senior, for that matter...seem to think that the fans and media are at thso press conferences to hear about THEM, rather than the actual fighters they train. Everytime they hit the podium, all they do is talk about themselves and how they'll whoop this guy or that guy. They are a bunch of egomaniacs who have taken their gifted abilities and squandered them, and think that what little fame they have acheived gives them the right to talk and strut around as if they are God's gift to boxing.

The fact that Scully is an ex-pro fighter has nothing to do with this, he's got just as much of an opinion on things like this as you or me, and what he's saying is true, Roger lost it a long time back.

Animal Squabbs LOL ohhh...you total IDIOT.....so Roger mayweather can be an ignorant, foolish acting idiot but since he was a world champ, etc. he can say what he wants and I cannot call him on it? Or how about this? In your pea brain mind.... u think that me, as a guy that fought for a world title, cannot say anything on this board but guys on here that never fought a day in their life (no offense intended) can say anything they want?? And I'm the idiot? No, my little friend, YOU are the idiot. That's right, its a newsflash for you...on top of being an internet warrior (keyboard gangster), on line tough guy wannabe, you are also an I-D-I-O-T. ANYWAY, I will say one thing for Roger Mayweather,though..... he's a lot smarter and sharper than any grown woman who would call herself "AnimalSquabbles"

                Diary Entry, The Iceman Diaries

May 3, 2007: So yesterday they have the press conference at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for Mayweather-DelaHoya and for some reason Roger Mayweather goes off on Freddy Roach, calling him a human punching bag and saying that when he was a fighter he would have beaten Roach if they ever matched up. He also lies and says that he turned pro against a 7-0 fighter and in his second pro fight he fought a guy with 27 wins. Both statements are very false. Amazingly, it was also a thing where Mayweather totally bashed legendary trainer Eddie Futch, even trying to downplay the man's accomplishments as a trainer (the trainer of Larry Holmes, Joe Frazier, Ken Norton, among many others).

Anyway, just last week Roger totally trashed his brother and fellow trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. in the media, talking about how his career was so much better than Floyd Sr's and that because of that he doesn't need any advice on training fighters. Now I don't know if Roger has a complex or what but as a former world champion I don't think he needs to go out of his way to prove how good he was because everybody that saw him fight knows he had skills (if not a good chin). It kind of seems to me that the way he goes overboard in bragging about himself is reminiscent of his brother Floyd. and, really, for two guys who do not speak to each other and come across like they cannot stand each other, they seem to act very much alike on many occasions.

"Roger Mayweather should focus on his next bout against his son's grandmother. Maybe he was a better fighter than Freddie Roach, but not in a million years would Roach have quit on his stool like Mayweather did against Chavez, and you wouldn't see Roach going around beating up old ladies. That posting on an internet message board this morning and the guy that wrote it hit it right on the head, I believe (not like that total fool, the internet gangster AnimalSquabbles, a guy on a message board I go to who writes some of the most ridiculous stuff related to boxing ever seen in cyberspace. You know the type. Every community has one.The one guy who stands out as a negative, clownish, wannabe who really makes no good points or sense and only serves to take up space that could otherwise be used by someone without at least a little bit of knowledge on the sport. Well, whatever. Every village needs an idiot... and AnimalSquabbles is ours ).

Roger Mayweather gives the impression that he cannot spell Roger Mayweather-I have yet to hear him EVER give REAL advice to Floyd Jr. during a fight.

Now-if someone could snag Lockridge v. Mayweather it has been a long time since I have seen that, what a KO!

Lets get that vid up here!

The guy( Jaime Naiva) had 27 LOSSES; Roger just misremembered I guess. Chavez did some damage upstairs to him.
