£1.6m is a nothing offer. They know that.

It's not too bad, it is $3.2 million. But no, for a tough fight like that they will have known Calzaghe would say no. They should have doubled it.

Considering Calzaghe got £200,000 for Reid and Woodhall, and his biggest payday ever was £1million against Manfredo (pre-Bika was £736,000 against Veit in Germany), it's MONSTROUS money. It would be the biggest ever non-heavyweight payday in Britain with the exception of the Nigel Benn getting 1.7 against Nardiello (and 1.6 against Malinga).

            a) that's wrong.

            b) £1.6m was the total purse unless I'm misreading the article.

I think well of Froch, but you Limeys need to stop calling for a fight that would seriously hinder the career of your best fighter. Calzaghe can't waste his time with a mere domestic fight. And Kessler has a much better resume and higher international profile.

Kessler has allway said he would try to win all four belts, where did you hear such nonsense?

Carl has not just beaten Brian Magee and Sergey Tatevosyan, but chillingly demolished them far more impressively than Robin Reid and Lucian Bute. The only common opponent between Carl and Kessler is Henry Porras, who Carl fought in Hollywood on a Golden Boy promotion, and if you watch those fights it's clear who the superior fighter is... even despite the fact Carl's thumb was hanging off!.
Henry (who doesnt really matter) was 26-1-0 when Kessler fought him, Carl faced him 3 defeats later. I'm impressed you caught Kessler-Porras, it really shows you care about Kesser.
You can say what you want about Kessler’s record, but the fact is, he fought the best he could possibly get, since he got his belt, and did so impressively. Hell, “The ring” still has 3 of his opponents in top 5. He has a good momentum, and the only fight worth a damn in SMW would be between the Calzaghe and him.

Kessler did headline a show on HBO, which was supported by the additional first free viewing of Barrera-Marquez.
