  • Froch Undergoes Successful Surgery

British and Commonwealth super middleweight champion Carl Froch has gone under the knife to rectify a long-term ligament problem after WBO champion Joe Calzaghe refused a £1.6 million offer to defend against him on a Hennessy Sports event this summer. [details]

This Cobra Froch quite possibly could be the best fighter we have seen come down the pike in sometime.

The only problem is that all of his fans eat cum, I dont care how good you are if all of your fans are out eating cum all the time sooner or later it is gonna start reflecting in your performance.

    Too bad.

If Kessler gives up the WBC belt, he's officially ducked him and that would pretty much stamp Froch's status as a top twp super-middle with Calzaghe.

Huh? He's got no wins on his record to equal Librado Andrade, Anthony Mundine or Markus Beyer. He's not a huge name outside of Britain - outside of Nottingham! - but is undoubtedly talented so Kessler would be right to go for bigger money fights, or other fights that would get him as much kudos as the froch fight for less risk.

On a related note I saw Frochy today in the centre of Nottingham. He was getting into a very gay car - a 206cc in lime green. I just hope it was his girlfriend's!!!!

I urge you on behalf of The Cobra to stop swallowing loads.

Librado Andrade, Anthony Mundine (WHO THE **** ARE THEY??). Markus Beyer, if this is the Markus Beyer who fought Richie Woodhall then he's a bunch of ****ing ****. Even Glenn Catley battered him, and I used to make Glenn look silly in the gym.

Carl has not just beaten Brian Magee and Sergey Tatevosyan, but chillingly demolished them far more impressively than Robin Reid and Lucian Bute. The only common opponent between Carl and Kessler is Henry Porras, who Carl fought in Hollywood on a Golden Boy promotion, and if you watch those fights it's clear who the superior fighter is... even despite the fact Carl's thumb was hanging off!

I'm not denying that he's a very talented fighter, I'm saying that Kessler's opponents have been superior to anything Carl has faced. Are you saying that's not true or am I misunderstanding you? I agree that he would give Kessler a tough fight and maybe even beat him, but to say that if Kessler gives up the WBC belt rather than face him that makes Carl one of the best two supper middles in the world is pretty farcical if you ask me.

Why? Carl is already the consensus #3 and many feel the true #1, so if Kessler actually ducks him that tells you he knows he probably can't beat him.

Carl is a name in Nottingham and Copenhagen, Kessler is a name in Copenhagen, neither of them are names anywhere else.

(Carl won the Gold medal and 'best boxer' award at the Multi Nations in Copenhagen in '01 as captain of the England squad, and went on Danish Radio last year saying he would KO Kessler in five rounds)

Not true. Kessler is a name in the states now, having made an impressive debut on HBO. HBO see him, Calzaghe, Wright, Taylor and Hopkins as the big five at that weight. Froch is still defending his British title, for God's sake. He has it in him to beat the top two, perhaps, but until he does it or beats someone in the top ten then we'll never know.

Why did Joe turn down 1.6 mill to NOT fight him?
