Freitas made me look like a genius tonight

Watched the fight with three first-timers and told 'em after round 2 that Freitas would gas out by the 8th round (ala the Corrales fight) and either be stopped by a weak barrage (Diaz can't crack all that well) or give up before the 10th. They were a bit surprised, but I thought it was pretty damn obvious even early on. Once Freitas saw he couldn't take Diaz out with one punch, he was finished. Besides, that jab of Diaz' could not miss and was easily his strongest punch.

None of us gave Freitas more than 2 rounds. That was one of the most entertaining one-sided fights I've seen up until about the 6th round when Diaz knocked him from pillar to post.

I was laughing so hard when Freitas got on his trainer's shoulders and was paraded around the ring after quitting.

I predicted this a week or two ago. Freitas didnt look good in his last fight either, and with his history of quiting and retiring, I figured theres no way he will last with Diaz' pressure.

I was talking to a friend about the fight and he was picking Freitas to beat Diaz while I was picking a decision win for Diaz.I was kind of joking and said I wouldn't be suprised if Freitas quit.Honestly I didn't think he would but at the same time it doesn't suprise.I think Corrales took his heart and now he can't pressure.Maybe his war with Jorge Barrios took his heart because he hasn't shown it since he won that war with a desperation haymaker.

I felt the fight would go the same way, with Freitas gassing out. I didn't think he would quit again after all the **** he got for doing that. Guess I was wrong...

I thought we at least saw a glimmer of what made Freitas a must-see fighter one time.

He dug deep and really wanted to fight.

I think they described it perfectly when they said DIAZ broke his will

Well, to be honest, as soon as I told everybody Freitas would gas out and be stopped by a weak ass barrage, Freitas came right back to win the 3rd and 4th rounds on my card. even when Diaz nearly knocked him out int the 5th or 6th, I thought Freitas landed some killer blows, but Diaz absorbed them well and had Freitas rocked with his ****in JAB. Basically, if Freitas had any defense whatsoever, he might have had a chance last night. Everytime he landed 2 good shots, he got tagged for the next 5 seconds straight, which is what led to him getting rocked that one time and almost KOed. Definitely wasn't the same Freitas that fought Corrales because he at least got out of the way for 6-7 rounds in that fight until he ran out of gas.
