    Winky Wright

I'm amazed since he is one dementional, lets face it all he doese is cover up than left right and back to cover
but it works and has got him this far...
    he humiliated Trinidad

and is a dominant force , but i'm wondering if this style can beat Hopkins? I would've picked Winky over Hops if this fight was made before the Tarver fight... he had to gain all this weight and everything and still dominated the bigger man

so my question is can Winkys style be bad for B Hops?

Everyone thinks he just puts his hands in front of his face... But he honestly paws shots really well which is the most underrated skill out there IMO. He also uses his elbows well. Great defense, not just as simple as putting his gloves in front of his face.

His style came straight from him slap fighting as a boy.

He met Birmingham when he was 14 at the gym and expressed that he'd like to try out boxing, Birmingham asked him if he'd ever fought before and Winky said "yeah I grew up slap fighting with my friends"

He's trained Winky ever since, and Birmingham through constant reinforcement became a Father figure and molded Winky into the best fighter on the planet.

Well at least according to me, because I'm in the minority when I list him at the top of the P4P charts. He's a real fighter, and maybe the physically toughest guy in the entire sport. Unreal how much punishment he can take on his arms, shoulders, chin, all that. If you had to put together a guy I'd say was picture perfect it would probably be him. Just a tough SOB who couples that toughness with a sound defense and conservative offense centered around breaking his opponents down mentally.

He's done it over and over to virtually everyone he's fought.....they can't break through his shield because it's just too solid. Oh and I'll say it again the JC vasquez that floored him 5 times could kill an Elephant with 1 punch.

Hopkins is one of my all time favs as is Winky, but you're going to see him work Nard over much to the surprise of the people picking against him yet again. It's always back to square one until he beats the best.

I think Bernard's inactivity is an open invite for Winky's jab. One thing Winky does well is stay in character so he'll work the jab for sure. Plus I doubt Bernard's power will discourage Winky.

There's a slim chance of Bernard's power hurting . Winky realizes this and therefore will continue to open it up as seen in his previous fights.

yeah naa Nard relies on 1 and done accurate punching at this point in his career, and that might be even worse than just trying to go in there and manhandle Wink like Taylor did at points and Tito tried.

There's just no way to beat him at all in my opinion. I think the only person that can is Edison Miranda because of his raw punching power. If he cracks Wink with a huge looping shot he'll floor him for sure.

Im not too sure about that. I know his Miranda's team was trying hard to get a fight with Winky a few months ago. They seem to think Winky is not as hard as a fight as most other people do. I'm not saying Miranda would beat him, but if you look at what Taylor did to Winky, just think what a stronger more aggressive Miranda might do. Taylor was losing when he was backed up against the ropes, Miranda would not get backed up. With the continued pressure I think Miranda could be the one to break Winky down. Again, it wouldnt be easy, but a fight I would love to happen.

I am a little concerned with Winky moving up to fight at 170.....other than that I don't think anyones style so to speak is perfect to beat winky......He is just too damn good.I think he beats Hopkins via UD.
