Got a couple of friends that dont believe me when I say Camacho was a great fighter. They have only seen old Macho. Any fights anyone can recommend that highlights Camacho's speed and abilities?

I agree with you 100%. Hector is one of my favortie fighters, and he's a beautiful boxer.
Watch the Vinny Pazienza fight and see how he suppresses aggression. Watch the Tony Baltazar fight to see a boxing clinic. They could also look at the Ray Mancini fight to see a more toe-to-toe style from Hector (in spots).Comment

Camacho Sr. had immense talent(no doubt about that), but against great competition he simply was all flair and no substance! That Y*utube vid is proof. Chavez made it look like a sparring session, all Camacho could do was run and hug.Comment

Same can be said about Chavez facing Randall and Taylor. Chavez was the Cab driver champ. Camacho Sr. was messed up on Coke towards the end. COuld he have been more effective against Chavez? Hell yes.. He had the speed and skills and could have made him look like leonard made Duran look in the No mas Rematch. Camacho's skills were 5x what Chavez brouoght to the table. Chavez had more power.
I give Camacho credit for not quitting like Chavez did vs DLH. Chavez always bitched after he loss...like a 12 yr old Mexican girl. I never liked that.Comment

Macho was great, talented, fast, smart and southpaw. Some of his best performances include his title fight against Rafael Limon, Jose Luis Ramirez, and Ray Mancini.
Macho was not as dedicated as he should have been. He trained 2 or 3 weeks for most of his fights, and drank and smoked up until that point. I personally know his lifestyle as he is a very close family member, and I can vouch for the fact that Macho's mind was not always on boxing. To me he is one of the most talented fighters that has entered the ring, yet he did not accomplish what he was capable of.Comment
