Why Oscar-Floyd could make or break boxing

UFC is obviously at an all time high when boxing is dropping. Now comes this fight being hyped up and billed as, "The World Awaits." That's pretty big shoes to fill. If this fight does not live up to all the hyper and bs, and is a total stinker, well guess what? Maybe the 60-70% non-boxing viewers that tuned in for this fight will never tune in again. The heavies have been in the ****hole for awhile so this is the only thing that could spark interest back into boxing with a big name like Oscar being in it. I just hope we see a fight or boxing will be in a deeper ****hole than it already is in.

These guys aren't known in Britain (not by casual boxing fans).

But in Amir Khan, we have a gem.

i doubt it, boxing fans like boxing. I like boxing, and I don't like ufc at all. Boxings fun for me to watch, while Ufc is boring for me to watch since the matches end so quick that if you take a piss you miss the whole show. So, why the hell would people switch from boxing to watch ufc crap that doesn't even last that long... hahaha

I think its important that this fight is entertaining and dramatic. It would help the sport a lot.

If the FIGHT ends in a Knockout, then every round up until that point can be very boring.

People love drama and whats better then a KO?

But, I think it'll be a good fight though. Not a war by any means. But a special fight none the less.

I dont think we have anything to worry about

It wont make or break boxing, there will be more anticipated fights within the next 2 years, imo, they might not make as much money as DLH-PBF, but imagine the hype for a Hatton Floyd fight, i reckon it would be even more anticipated than this.

Im not really worried if the fight makes or breaks boxing. The true boxing fans will continue to watch. There are enough of us out there that the sport will still do good. I hope the fight does turn out to be good because it might gain a few boxing fans and get boxing a little hype, but if it doesnt turn out to be exciting, I won't be worried I will continue to watch this great sport.

Well that's the thing. Is there enough of us really? Of course us true boxing fans will always choose boxing over UFC or any alternative, yet I don't think it's enough of us to make a difference. UFC fans are the football fans and that easily outnumbers us by a huge margin. Alls I'm saying is that if this is a dull fight with all the hype, it's not gonna make boxing look any better than UFC to us.
