is there any special benefit obtaining a title belt??? wba,wbo,wbc,ibf...

when a fighter wins a title fight lets say the ibf or the wba, we know that,
that specific fighter or boxer is the recognized champion but what else do they get, im not quite clear on that.....like extra bonus or maybe paid vacation, of course while being a champion.....

It depends on their management. Many times it creates instant stardom and a new better paid contract. It also creates more of a following or a more passionate group of fans. It also makes the fighter a target. No more hunting fights as people will be coming to the fighter for a shot.

Money wise its all about being marketable and recognisable.

The belts are not instant either. Most of the time the belt you hold in the ring is used for the promotion and the new belt will be sent out to you after being made.

Best of all, all the money on offer could not replace being able to tell your grand kids "I was Champion of the World". That is the most recognised title in sports. You could be watching baseball with your NASCAR mates and someone could ask "who is champ of the world?" Automatically most people forget other sports and think boxing!

that's true thanks, i was thinking somewhat along the lines but was not quite clear, thanks....it sure is a great feel to be a champ specially the WBC

Belts mean little to fighters who have already made their name in the sport, thus can market themselves.
For a lesser known boxer they are a tool to get status and better paydays by marketing their fight as a title fight.

Sorry mate. In regards to the actual organisations like the WBC, IBF ect.

They dont give out anything if thats what you were meaning. They are in the game to make money, not spend it. The only perks they could give would be ithy courruption and setting fights.

well how about when a fighter is stripped from the title belt....
i don't understand why exactly, i mean if a fighter is not defending or at least generating as much when fighting, the title can demand a mandatory ???
and if does not accept they will be stirpped ??? im just not sure....
i hate to see fighters get stripped from their belts or at least when they become vacant they declare some other chum as champ
