Gomez will actually be a lot bigger than Gatti. It will be a close fight if it happens.

I go with fonso winning this one by UD. Gatti has been through a lot of wars and have taken it's toll on him. Fonso is a fresh and a bigger fighter and he's got enough boxing skill to beat gatti at this point of his career.

I dunno, I just remember watching The Contender II sparring sessions with Gomez and watching him getting knocked about the ring by Grady Brewer. Couple that with a lackluster fight against Feleciano, where Gomez led early, but let his want to brawl get the best of him, and it tells me Gomez cant hold it together a full fight.

I've gotten to like Gomez and he looked pretty good against Concepion in the Contender US vs UK. Gatti against a bigger opponent, Baldomir in his last fight didn't look so good and got KOed by a guy with very little KO power. He has gotten older and I think his battles have caught up to him, but he has a tremendous heart and everytime you think he might be done he comes back. It will probably be his last fight so I think he will find some way to pull it off and get the win.

bums dont get televised on main events, get title shots or win titles for that matter. Even though Gatti is old but Gomez really doesnt have a shot here he gets hit even easier than Gatti and he hasnt fought anyone who hits as hard as him

Gatti being the biggest puncher he's faced is debatable, Gomez has fought as high as 160(even though not against the best competition), and he has shown a pretty good chin thus far. Should be a good fight.

Gatti was undefeated at 130 and beat a couple of pretty good fighters in Patterson and Rueles. He was not a bum level fighter. Put Buddy McGirt in his corner when he was at 135 and he beats Ivan Robinson both times. Gatti was reckless inside and outside of the ring then when he had the potential to win another belt.

Gatti's horrible now. Wouldn't surprise me if Alphonse beats him

When gatti loses , it'll prove once and for all that he is a bum fighter...there shouldn't be any excuses from the gatti fans...if he loses , then it will put the nail in the coffin on gatti's legacy as a good fighter.....and demote him to bum level......no excuses.....
