Realized something about Floyd and Roy

Floyd Mayweather is fighting Oscar at 154 lbs on May 5, for Oscar's title.

Roy Jones' 1st fight was at 157 and he had a fight in 1991 at 154 lbs.

Basically, the class that Roy started at is now where Floyd finds himself.

    That's wild.

wild is a lot, but the first thing coming to my mind, is Oscar had success at 154, in fact he has a very good record at the weight, but he is not a big scary jr middle (mike mccallum...).

I had another similar thought for hop-dlh, when it happened I thought if hopkins loses he will be the only man to lose to a HW champ and a superfeather champ.

I just think this shows a considerable size difference between Oscar and Floyd, even though Oscar is not naturally as big as Roy was.

Floyd in no way should be at 154. If he wins it will be a pretty big win in my eyes, even though Oscar is a little aged.

Floyd has no business at 154. I agree.

I would also udnerline that Oscar is (was? maybe...) very good at the weight, more than people give him credit for: he stopped yori boy campas, vargas, mayorga, beat Castillejo and lost only to mosley in a very close fights, which many deem controversial.
Oscar is good at 154 but its not HIS weight he is not Terry Norris, Mike McCallum, Nino Benvenuti, Thomas Hearns.

I am not going to blame Floyd for this: Roy Jones fought Ruiz at HW, Ray Robinson fought Joey Maxim at LHW, I think Oscar is better than both (I dont hold maxim very high), but he is really a Welterweight.

Floyd is surely taking a more difficult fight than Leonard did against Lalonde.

It goes to show what a risk this fight is for Floyd.
24 pounds from his starting weight, where he was a world champ.
What a feat that would be.

I wouldn't be suprised if Floyd won without much trouble.

Yet, most people (the same people that predict Oscar to win, mind you), if Floyd wins will find a way to discredit beating a caliber of fighter like Oscar in a weight division he has no business being in.
