Prime for prime? Basing on the level of competition and manner of victory.

The real deal always wins against the fake.

Wrong, you must be blind not to see basic common sense.

Look who he toys with. It's crazy, he's on another level than everyone.
Wright is more debatable as the top p4p guy and is open for discussion as it is undeniable that he has a pretty good resume to be shown at.

        PBF is a fake.

answer to the question in the title.

            boxing fans,

in fact it almost form definition, those who did not care for mayweather run at 130-135 were not boxing fans at the time.

If you seriously didn't pay any attention to Floyd before the Arturo Gatti fight... wow. I'm going to have to seriously question your knowledge of the sweet science. Why would the Gatti fight even turn your head anyway? Gatti was shot then, and even in his prime wouldn't have stood a chance. The very latest Floyd was really relevant was 2001 when he dominated Chico, but any real, knowledgeable fan knew he was at least someone to watch out for even before that.

There you go everyone, anyone who didnt rate Mayweather pre 2001 is not a real fan of boxing.

Well, that was harshly worded, but you know what I mean. That was his first win over another top fighter and cemented his position as a contender.
