JIM LAMPLEY and his BIASED WAYS

Over the years you can clearly tell that he has favorites, like any other human being would.

Some fighters he just loves to watch, but others he truly cares for.

Im not sure any of you know this, but Lampley cares for Fernando Vargas, sort of like a brother or a son.

Watch any Vargas fight where he gets Knocked out. Trinidad, DLH, Mosley...

Listen to his voice. It goes all raspy and quiet like hes on the verge of crying. But he keeps it VERY professional and came up with some classic calls. But for the Mosley Knockout, he almost didnt react. I thought it was unprofessional

For other fights, like Jermain Taylor or Marco Antonio Barrera, He just loves to watch them. He could care less if they win or lose, but he highly respects their talent, desire, and passion.

So he tends to favor them a bit and i personally think its a bit unprofessional.

Teddy Atlas, on the other hand, called a few Michael Moorer fights, and kept completely professional despite Moorer getting rocked several times.

He has favorites too, but manages to keep in completely professional

    Thoughts?

BTW, i still love both guys, but i tend to enjoy Lampley better when there's a fighter fighting that i know Lampley doesnt favor

So what? Why would he? Everyone knew Vargas was practically shot by thatt ime and that he would more than likely get KO'd.

And that's exactly what happened. Even Lampley could not fake that circumstance.

Everyone is biased. EVERYONE. EVER. Lamps is not the only one. At least he adds gusto to the fights unlike those boring stiffs at Showtime.

If your biased, you HAVE to STAY PROFESSIONAL!!!

Pacquioas 3rd round KO over Morales was expected, but Lampley was going nuts.

Lampley didnt react to the Vargas KO, because he was upset. He had every right to be, but he should have stayed professional.

It was like a slap in the face to Mosley fans.

          Your a Gatti fan right???

Well lets say Gatti is in a VERY close fight with Manny Pacquioa. lets just say.

But everytime Gatti lands a flush punch, not even a peep from the announcers. But when pacquioa lands a jab, they comment on its excellence and its perfection, and how Gatti simply isnt good enough to avoid it???

Well THATS biased commentary, and Id bet my life that youd hate it if one of your fighters was involved.

Announcers should get into the fight and if a guy is dominating the fight then it isnt biased when the announcer only talks about him. And i love lampley for that. But when certain fighters fight, i would rather have a different announcer

Raise your hand if your not biased!! I expect no one will because we are human and have our favorites, so why doesn't this apply to commentators??... I dunno.
WHO GIVES A ****! Like I said before, You DON'T buy a PPV to hear Larry and Lampley.. You don't like them.. then turn of the volume or put in in SAP.

Generally speaking Lampley is a passionate and emotional guy.

Surprisingly so.. He tears up fairly often.

Teddy Atlas on the other hand is a very hard man.

The feelings could be the same but the indicators completely different.

                I think there's a certain authority behind Lampley's preferences..

He believes in his point of view to the degree that he qualify's himself to lead the audience.

                I think he overdoes it.

He's also working off the HBO directives - but in some part I can appreciate that he gets inspired emotionally, and artistically to have these leanings..

I recognise that too, especially in the Taylor-Wright fight,Taylor would throw a jab and right hand Lampley would go crazy like theres been a knockout, but while Winky was landing solid combos on JT in the corners and against the rope,Lampley was not acknologing it,he was completly quite until Taylor fired back and started again " JT COMES OUT THE CORNER AND LANDS 2 FLUSH SHOTS ON WRIGHT!!!!! " haha its funny, hes gna be like this come May 5th,he loves DLH

i dont think he loves DLH does he???

I always thought he sorta resents DLH because he knocked out his boy Vargas.
