On ESPN2.....against Sherwin Williams from what I read.He is still a top 10 HW even tho Wlad demolished him he is still a formidable foe for nearly anyone in the division.....thoughts or comments?I'd like to see him fight Eddie Chambers who reminds me of a younger Byrd......maybe he can pass the slick boxer HW tag on to Chambers after the fight......

Really don't care much about this fight. Byrd will have to prove that his a a way better fighter in order for me to see him as a threat but, I think he'll stick to his stick and move type of boxing. -
He could still beat about half of the top ten guys in the HW division.Comment

When I think of Chris Byrd, I always think of several things...
1. Nobody in HISTORY makes as many weird faces during a fight. Even hitting a heavybag, he looks like he bit into a super sour lemon and saw a worm in it.
2. I wonder how he would have been as a cruiserweight.
3. Always humble and his good character comes out in interviews...win or lose.
4. Too boring for PPV. I personally like fighters who at least have a chance of knocking somebody out.Comment

As long as he's a heavyweight I think he's the second or third best heavyweight behind Wlad and Peter. I think he'd easily beat Peter though.

byrd ought to hang up the gloves, he's not the same fighter that he used to be. byrd takes too much time between fights, doesn't have the same slickness as before, still a feather fist, his stamina isnt at a world class level anymore, his punch output has dropped to next to nothing, he's boring to watch now too, which i can't believe i'm saying, i used to be huge on byrd when i was younger, but his last string of fights over the past 4-5 years has turned me off from being a fan, byrd has been a real let down. i don't think he has the intenesity anymore, i think his wife took it out of him.
plus holding out for the big payday like he did before fighting wlad in the rematch was one of the worst things he could've done, while waiting he got out of shape and his skills got WAY rusty.........................
i think he is better off doing something else other than fighting..................Comment

Nice call byrd.
Nothing beats watching a fight where neither opponent has a shot at a KO.
They might as well wear those huge oversized gloves you see at parties.
Maybe his next comeback fight will be against an actual woman, instead of a guy that hits like one.Comment
