    Chagaev To Face Sprott-Skelton Winner?

According to overseas reports, unbeaten Ruslan Chagaev, who last weekend won the WBA heavyweight title from seven-foot Nikolai Valuev in Stuttgart, Germany, could possibly make the first defense of the title against the winner of the upcoming battle between UK rivals Matt Skelton and Michael Sprott, who fight on May 26 in London. Sprott dont deserve a title shot, He was getting beat up by Audley until he landed some decent body shots and got a home run punch.

To be fair that punch was really bad, Audley keeps making this sound when he punches

        ''urrraagggghhh''

He did just before Sprott smacked him with his Jaw wide open too. ouch.

Apparently these days Audley keeps his Jaw in a glass jar and leaves it on the bedside table,

It reminds him of when he used to be a fighter.

Hey tech i saw this thread and knew you'd be in here soon if sprott beats Skelton which he probably won't why not give him a shot if he's beaten the both of them? He'd be more deserving than alot of the american joke fighters who've got shots recently. But skelton will win that fight and i would say he deserves his shot. Sprott did win with a lucky punch but then so did Briggs and he's a champ.

Skelton will likely win against Sprott and if so he deserves a shot. Skelton vs. Chagaev would be a good matchup. If Sprott wins, he should have to face another WBA contender before fighting Chagaev again, since he has a much less impressive resume (lots of losses).

Tony Thompson deserves a title fight. Someone young and unbeaten like Dimitrenko or Chambers (if he beats Guinn) would be better than Toney, Ruiz, Rahman, Williamson or Lyakhovich.

Unification in the fall actually might happen, Chagaev against Wlad, Ibragimov, Briggs, or Brewster.

JD I have to disagree. I wouldn't put either Sprott or Skelton in the top 25, and Chagaev has already made Sprott look like an amateur. This is horrendous news, the WBA contender status being wasted on the winner of this local fight.

It'll be ok but if you hold Chagaev in high regard you don't want to see him wasted on someone like Skelton. I'd rather see him fight Sam Peter or the winner of Briggs/Ibragimov.
