All the rumors circling around about how Tito was going to KO Wink.... i think it was around then after he beat mosley and Tito people started to see him, and respect him somewhat.

                      Here are some of mine:

Taylor/Wright--I'm a huge Winky fan and I got to attend and bring my wife...we were two of maybe a total of 50 Winky fans in the arena.

Lewis/Tyson--I've long been a hopelessly optimistic Tyson fan, and I just hoped he would land that one big punch that would basically have salvaged his reputation as one of the best ever...now that's a big question mark because of Lewis' dominance and Mike's inability to beat Holyfield. This fight was also in Memphis but there was no way I could afford to go to this one.

Hopkins-Taylor I and II--I'm also a big Hopkins fan, so I was looking forward to him taming the young lion, and naturally I thought he did it both times but he didn't get the decision...argh.

Hopkins-Wright (coming up, July 21)--My two favorite active fighters...enough said.

DLH-PBF (coming up, May 5)--It is impossible NOT to anticipate this fight. If you love one, you have a vested interest in boxing's biggest fight in years. If you hate one, likewise. And if you hate both, which quite a few do, you want to watch just to see one of them lose.

PBF-Judah--Baldomir did alot to take the luster off this one, otherwise it would have been a much bigger event. Still, I counted down the days to it because I thought Judah could catch PBF (and he sure did, getting the uncredited KD and also punching PBF to the ropes early in the fight), but unfortunately he couldn't keep up the pace after the fourth round. Credit to Floyd.

Trinidad-Wright--At the time I liked Winky but I preferred Tito. I thought Tito would stop Winky and move to a huge rematch with Hopkins, boy was I wrong. Winky's performance made me say "wow", and from there he was one of my favorites, just a shade below Bernard.

Trinidad-Mayorga--I missed almost all of Tito's prime fights (I was a very fairweather fight fan during Tito's huge rise and I didn't watch any of his previous big fights live), so to see his return I was pumped. Ricardo made it a great show.

Corrales-JLC II--The weight issue killed it before it even started...what a downer that was.

                      Corrales-JLC III--...argh...

Tyson-Holyfield I and II--Like everyone else (just about), this was a rivalry that had to wait FIVE years to come to fruition, but as a Tyson fan I was incredibly disappointed in both fights for obvious reasons.

Lewis-Vitali Klitschko--I couldn't believe that such a strong replacement could be found and approved by the Lewis camp after Kirk Johnson (!--Kirk Johnson was going to get a title shot, think about that--!) got hurt. Lewis NEVER gets credit for taking such an incredibly tough fight on such short notice. He was in the shape he was in (i.e. his career worst by far) because he expected a jab fest chess match with Johnson. Vitali came to fight and it was awesome while it lasted. I really looked forward to seeing how Lewis would perform after his dominance of Tyson, and I was much more pumped to see Klitschko as the opponent instead of Johnson.

Tszyu-Hatton--I couldn't wait for the MEN Arena atmosphere, the live late start (3 AM!) and the possibility of a great fight. Other than wanting Tszyu to win, it didn't disappoint...Hatton really impressed me, and as a result he's really disappointed me since. But let's be honest, living up to his performance that night is impossible, unless he can beat Cotto or PBF down the road. Tszyu doesn't get enough credit for taking this fight IN MANCHESTER. Incredible, a guy of Tszyu's stature taking the fight in Manchester against a relatively untested unknown outside of the UK.

Calzaghe-Lacy--I had never seen Calzaghe fight and boy was I impressed. I knew the atmosphere would be awesome, and it was, but not as awesome as Joe's performance. I was absolutely stunned by his brilliance in his fight, the second-most impressed I've ever been while watching a live fight (Winky v. Tito would be first).
