Vazquez: "Rafa and I have unfinished business!"

Every round was a war," remembers former WBC Superbantam weight champion Israel "Magnifico" Vazquez. Vazquez is referring to his brutal back and forth battle against pound for pound great Rafael Marquez.

The two Mexico City warriors provided a national TV audience and the live crowd at the Home Depot Center with a classic Mexican confrontation. Both men were swinging for the fences with every shot.

Yeah can't wait for the rematch. Could have been possibly the fight of the year if it would have lasted longer. Both men showed heart and determination. Vasquez in that last round I thought was gaining the advantage, but couldn't go because of his nose. I would still pick Marquez in the rematch. His boxing skills are better and he might have a slight edge in power. Vasquez is a warrior and you can never count him out. This should be another war again.

Israel might as well have said "I would've won if he didn't punch me in the face."

He tried his damnest when he knew that he couldn't go much longer, and still lost. People say that he would've won had he stuck it out a round or two longer, but I don't believe that. He went for broke in the 6th and 7th because he treated it like it was the 11th and 12th. He knew the end was coming, and went all out.

It was a great fight and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a rematch. I'm just not expecting a different outcome - other than a more definitve stoppage this time around.

Vasquez is a brave man , but i dont think he has what it takes to beat Rafael. He hits hard, but even then it seems like rafael is still considerably the harder puncher causing tons of damage. It is also unlikely that Rafael will make the same mistake he did when he thought Vasquez was finished instead he will be patient and inflict more damage imo.
