    Rookie question...

I have only been a boxing fan for about five years, but what I lack in quantity I make up for in enthusiasm. I now LOVE the sport. Dont ask me why, but I do. My question is this: I understand that there are lots of different belts out there that, if you have one, you are considered world champion by that organization. And of all the belts out there, four are the most recognized. The WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO, if I have it right. In what order are the belts recognized in terms of legitimacy? Thanks guys.

The WBC, WBA, IBF...are all equal.
      Equally corrupt, ****ty, & worthless.

The WBO belt is worth even less.

The belts are only as good as the fighters who hold them.

          EXACTLY

Would Hopkins be any less of a fighter if you took away those leather straps? the answer is HELL NO.

There all jokes some are bigger jokes than others but make no mistake all are corrupt

The only belt you need to reconize is The Ring belt.

Not only that -- the Ring Magazine or People Championship belt also ensures that excellence in boxing is maintained with the true virtues of the sports. It also maintains and safeguards that boxing will always have the highest standards and keeps it from being tainted by politics, personal interest, greed and selfish manueverings that we've seen in the boxing governing bodies.
