    Floyd Mayweather Camp Notes

The Grand Rapids Press, MI - Apr 12, 2007

The once-daily gym regimen begins at 12:30 p.m., two to three hours earlier than customary for Mayweather, and the first of as many as four daily workouts, concluding with midnight roadwork. Mayweather spent 10 rounds hammering a 180-pounder Monday. Tuesday, he bloodied up a 32-0 sparring partner in four rounds. At 30, he still claims to be boxing's hardest worker. Gym veterans agree.

"He works out harder than any fighter I've ever watched work out, and I've seen a lot of them," said Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, 54, a former light heavyweight champion. "He'll spar 10 rounds, then jump straight out of the ring and do seven, eight rounds on the heavy bag. I don't think Oscar does that."

Roger Mayweather is back as head man in charge, after a one-fight respite, during which his second's license was revoked for a year, and he served a stretch for battery. It wasn't the best vacation, but six months of focused plotting against De La Hoya can't hurt the family scheme.

"Man, I'm back on the books. And I'll tell you this right now -- Floyd is going to kick De La Hoya's ass," Roger Mayweather said.

They spew alot of bs out of their camp to get oscar afraid. When it's really floyd who is afraid.*my opinion*

And floyds not pushing a 180 pound fighter around, unless that fighter sucks ass he's taking on or they're taking it easy on him.

I think Mayweather is gonna suprise alot of people during this fight with two things,

      1) I think he gonna carry some power up with him to 154, cos he putting on pure muscle.

      2) I think he his gonna attempt to fight in the pocket, not what you people call 'running'

I dont care how much training De La Hoya does, nothing can prepare him for Floyd in the pocket, he has the ability to make him look about 10 years older from that position.

      Watch this space.

If the training they are saying is true that floyds doing with the fight, i'd go with floyd to win this fight. But, does anyone else feel that this is more of a scare-tactic? I get that vibe.

Nope, Floyd Mayweather is in-shape 24/7 anyways, and he gonna look to put on a show on May 5th.

Think people are gonna be suprised, Mayweather gonna come forward and fight in this one.

Floyd is going to embarass Oscar.
I think he'll win ten rounds to two.

I've punched a punching bag non-stop before over an hour when I was a kid. Non-stop, so I believe he punched the heavy bag for as long as he said he did because thats not hard. I have a really hard time believeing that he pushed a guy around who weighs 30 pounds more then him unless the 180 pound fighter he fought with sucks.

i think 180lber refers to the weight of the bag.
