Is it true that calzaghe has beaten 6 former world champions?

If so, I don't understand why people keep attacking him. Thats probably more then roy jones jr, tarver, hopkins and taylor ever will achieve in their careers. Someone posted this on another website, and I need it to be confirmed if its the truth. If it is, then calzaghe is the real deal. And people need to lay off him, saying he has fought bums only. Beating 6 former world champions, is a pretty good record in my opinion.

Perhaps, thats very misleading tho, seeing as there are 4 belts out there, and the SuperMiddleweight Divison is possibly the worst in boxing after the heavyweight divison.

      Calzaghe has fought absolutely everyone.

Delaney, Reid, Woodhall, Starie, Sheika, Veit x 2, Brewer, Mitchell. Even Chris Eubank FFS!

But Reid, Starie, Brewer and Mitchell were all clearly robbed against Ottke. All of them.

Since Reid and Woodhall, Calzaghe has been the ONLY super-middleweight - he cleared out the division. Lacy and Calzaghe were considered joint #1 in the division before they fought, remember, and remember after the Eubank fight people thought Calzaghe was the top guy and that nobody was even close.

Apart from the obvious (Reid, Woodhall, Eubank Lacy), Charles Brewer and Byron Mitchell - top Americans. Brewer ofcourse was robbed against Echols, the guy who gave Hopkins his toughest fight.

LMAO.... Robin Reid -Sven Ottke is one of the WORST robberies i ever seen, an investigation should have been done into that, reid knocked him down too, and ref ruled it as a slip, Reid said ''Even **** Turpin wore a mask''

                lmao.

                However

Starrie aint all that, although he also CLEARLY beat ottke (another disgraceful decision) Reid arguebably beat JC and wasnt give a rematch (i never saw that fight, few people say Reid won) and Eubank was shot.

Yes, Calzaghe was and is the best at SM, he would KO'd ottke as well, but its a poor divison.

ps. He must have beaten Richie Woodhall really bad, years on and he still cant add up a scorecard for BBC lmao.

I will tell you why people keep attacking calzaghe

Calzaghe has only fought 2 mandatories in TEN YEARS and why has he only fought 2 mandatories in ten years, take a look on WBO-rules or Warrens Boxing Organization-rules

"When a Champion must make a mandatory defense, the Mandatory Challenger shall be the highest classified available boxer who, in the judgment of the World Championship Committee, best satisfies the following criteria:

                    1) has a record acceptable to the World Championship Committee, and who, because of accomplishment and achievement, is recognized by the World Championship Committee as a class boxer; and

                    2) Complies with the WBO and Association of Boxing Commissions Criteria for the Ratings of Professional Boxers; and

                    3) In the event that the Champion has a contract with a major television network (HBO, SHOWTIME, ZDF, Sky or other similar broadcast company), is an acceptable challenger to the Champion’s television network."

Nr. 3) explains everything. The fighter has to be acceptable to the television network. Very often Calzaghe and Warren can just go ahead and say that the opponent is not acceptable.

And very often WBO rank a fighter with no big TV-promotion behind him as mandatory challenger. They do that to satisfy promotors like Warren and the big German promotors, because Warren and the Germans feed WBO with the majority of money from the sanctioning fees. The rules have been created to satisfy the big promotors, so they can do whatever they like.

In the case of Calzaghe it means, that he can fight bums whenever he likes. In the case of Kessler (WBA and WBC) it means that he has to fight tough guys like Andrade, who was mandatory challenger
