I hate merchant but kellerman isn't the best to replace him because he's just as annoying. Either way I'm sick of merchant and can't wait to stop hearing his ****ty interviews.

The bad thing about max kellerman is that he picks a fighter to win and sticks with the guy no matter what...and it's always the favorite...he never gives props to the other boxer...just watch the litzau vs hernandez fight...he kept stating they should stop the fight because hernandez wasn't doing anything and for his health etc..yet he ignored liztau being cracked throughout the fight many times by hernandez which eventually ended in hernandez ko litzau...but max all the way through the ko kept wanting the fight to end because his guy (litzau) was sooo good etc....i use to like max but watch any fight that includes a mexican and he goes for the other guy ...the guy is an idiot when it comes to boxing...espn and fox sports both fired the guy...i give it 2 months before hbo does..

Merchant is the king of saying things, just for effect, or just to make himself look like he knows about boxing.

Example, during the Barrera-Marquez fight he says

''I have never seen a fight since sugar ray leonard respond to a punch faster than Marco Antonio Barrera''

Just a ****ty comment to make when everyone can name someone faster at countering than MAB, not saying Barrera isnt class or isnt a quick counter puncher.

He blatantly attempts to degreade certain fighters, his commentary with Emmanuel Steward (the only guy in the world who thinks the Barrera Marquez knockdown was a slip lmao) during Mayweather-Baldomir was disgustin, the whole fight they degraded mayweather's achivements, Steward even said Mayweather was unimpressive and the De La Hoya fight wouldnt happen.

Merchant is way too Baised, and HBO is in General

I wont even go into how they deliberatley didnt announce when Marquez was landing shots against Barrera, but were goin nutz when Barrera had shots Partially-Blocked against Marquez.

Larry Merchant has the more memorable lines..."He's gotta lot of ***** in that armor, but look at all that armor!" or "he's a one-dimensional fighter but it's helluva dimension!".................it might not be verbatum but you get the point....................Kellerman is alright only because he likes boxing...he can get annoying.....as long as it's not Steven A.--------------I would love to have that job though....

HBO used to be great, even a couple of years ago, but now the bias and bad commentating is beyond a joke. The love of Barrera is staggering- in Morales-Barrera III, they were even declining to call landed Morales shots and focussing solely on the efforts of Barrera for most of an extremely close fight. Against Marquez, as is stated above, it was all Barrera, Barrera, Barrera. It's sickeningly bad at the moment. I prefer Showtime at the moment- not quite as Hollywood as HBO, but so much more professionalism in what they do, absolute neutrals for the best part.

larry jokes around on the job, which makes him a great at the job he does. He knows when to be serious and knows when to be goofy... Why are they getting rid of him? And I don't like kellerman one bit, he looks like a skinny loser who was even lucky to get the job as it is.
